We were saddened to say goodbye to Grand Alero as he moved on to alpaca heaven, and have left his info here since he supplied the wonderful genetics for quite a number of our females - many who shear 5+ pound blankets. Grand Alero played a very special part in our breeding program; he gave us six beautiful girls - Grande Alera, Grande Dencia, Just Glorious, Grande Laramie, Grande Flora, and Benezette - including award winners in both halter, fleece and spin-off competitions! His daughter, Grande Alera, for example, began winning blue ribbons in halter at the age of 6 months, a second place at AOBA Nationals (between Accoyo America in first and Snowmass in third), blue ribbons and a Best Brightness Judges' Choice award in large fleece competitions, as well as a 4th place in fleece at AOBA Nationals. Therefore, it was with pleasure that we joined in on the ownership of Alero with our friends Tim and Deb McCarty at Heather's Acre and we thank them for the opportunity. Grand Alero's wonderful temperament was passed along to his offspring along with his very dense fiber and crimp. He will be missed, and we will be forever grateful for all of the calm, beautiful, dense offspring that he gave to us. Their next generations of offspring continue to carry his wonderful qualities as well.

Description

Morning SKY's Grande Laramie holds a special place in our hearts as the fourth girl in a row and final offspring of our Peruvian import 6P Paulettha and our co-owned herdsire, Grand Alero. Before their passing, these two alpacas repeatedly combined their genetics to give us numerous foundation females around which to build our herd. A full sister to our award winning girls Grande Alera, Grande Dencia, and Just Glorious, Morning SKY's Grande Laramie was named in honor of Bob's trip to Wyoming during the fall that she was born. Just like her sisters before her, Laramie's conformation is lovely, her large yearly quantity of fleece is crimpy and dense, and she has a good bite, good bone and fleece coverage, and a beautiful head! Laramie also carries the calm temperament of her sire, Grand Alero, and is easy to handle and a sweetheart.
