Sir Peruvian Accoyo Odyssey

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 841970DOB: 8/10/200222 yrs
Odyssey passed away peacefully January 17, 2020. Odyssey's lineage includes two famous grandsires, Vengador and Accoyo Godfather. He's a champion in the show ring, a champion in our herd and we know his genetics will step up the quality of future generations. With over 100 offspring to his credit, Odyssey has proven himself to be consistant in the cria he has sired. He is most notable for the extremely fine fleeces that are characterized with well defined matchstick bundles. Although mostly bred with white females, Odyssey has also produced color when bred to females with color. Odyssey has always been our most coveted and consistent producer. His value to our breeding program cannot be expressed in dollars.

We were saddened to say goodbye to Grand Alero as he moved on to alpaca heaven, and have left his info here since he supplied the wonderful genetics for quite a number of our females - many who shear 5+ pound blankets. Grand Alero played a very special part in our breeding program; he gave us six beautiful girls - Grande Alera, Grande Dencia, Just Glorious, Grande Laramie, Grande Flora, and Benezette - including award winners in both halter, fleece and spin-off competitions! His daughter, Grande Alera, for example, began winning blue ribbons in halter at the age of 6 months, a second place at AOBA Nationals (between Accoyo America in first and Snowmass in third), blue ribbons and a Best Brightness Judges' Choice award in large fleece competitions, as well as a 4th place in fleece at AOBA Nationals. Therefore, it was with pleasure that we joined in on the ownership of Alero with our friends Tim and Deb McCarty at Heather's Acre and we thank them for the opportunity. Grand Alero's wonderful temperament was passed along to his offspring along with his very dense fiber and crimp. He will be missed, and we will be forever grateful for all of the calm, beautiful, dense offspring that he gave to us. Their next generations of offspring continue to carry his wonderful qualities as well.

Description

Making us wait several extra weeks past her due date, Pricilla gave birth to Morning Sky's Eliana on the hottest day of the entire summer! For this reason, her name, meaning "daughter of the sun", was chosen. Dark fawn and 1/2 Accoyo, out of award winning Sir Peruvian Accoyo Odyssey - who has awesome, dense fleece - Eliana had an IgG of 1950 at one week of age, and has a perfect bite, beautiful head and great staple length. She also boasts Vengador and Accoyo Godfather in her pedigree! Morning Sky's Eliana was bred to our dark fawn, award winning herdsire, Crescent Moon's Roulette - a Rayo del Sol son, 4P Legacy and Danko grandson, and Caballero Andante great grandson, and delivered a strong, lovely light brown girl with a white face, and great presence, Morning Sky's Roulette's Mirra! When bred to our dense, co-owned, 3/4 Accoyo multiple ribbon winning herdsire, Grand Alero, the result was an white female with great presence, Morning Sky's Grande Flora, born 6/19/10. Eliana's purchase includes a breeding to either Grand Alero, white, or Crescent Moon's Roulette, medium fawn - both very dense, conformationally correct, ribbon winners, and each with great temperament. "One Fine Day", shown above and featuring Eliana in our pasture in the autumn, took a second place ribbon in the 2008 Photo Contest at the AOBA National show in Sandy, Utah, and was featured in the fall 2008 issue of Alpacas magazine!
