NAPOLEON de LaCroix

NAPOLEON de LaCroix was a wonderful herd sire with beautiful fleece and perfect conformation. His sire was the prized, light fawn 6Peruvian ROMANTICO, and from his sire, NAPOLEON inherited fleece with long-lasting fineness and soft handle, even in his advanced years. There was also the suri influence in NAPOLEON's color and luster. NAPOLEON's dam, beige POWDER PUFF Royale, was a huacaya out of two EXCEPTIONAL suris: 4Peruvian MAGNIFICO, a dark ROSE GREY, and 5Peruvian VICUNA ROYALE, a medium FAWN. NAPOLEON's offspring inherited his fineness, as well as his beautiful head and extensive fiber coverage. Better yet, more than 75% exhibited grey fiber, most often ROSE GREY. His daughter, Royale ALEXANDRIA, is a beautiful baby-fine grey out of a grey dam, LRF SCARLET. Sadly, NAPOLEON passed away on November 11, 2020, at the age of 19 years. Sire: “MAGNIFICO, a true black that became a DARK SILVER GREY, was a striking herd sire that needed no introduction to anyone looking at color genetics. His ability to sire quality, size, and unique colors, including harlequin appaloosa[!], remains unquestionable. He left a colorful legacy that included highly regarded herd sires and daughters that graced the pastures of some of the most notable farms in the U.S. and were rarely found on a sales list. Stellar color genetics!” Dam: “VICUNA ROYALE, a very fine-fibered, FAWN SURI female, was imported at 2 ½ years of age with a micron of 17.6[!], and she continued to have a low-micron fleece, even after producing several crias.” [Lovers’ Lane Suri Alpacas/Froelich] NOTE: Although it is possible that a HUACAYA with a SURI ancestry might generate a SURI, the possibility is very slight. I am NOT advocating the cross breeding of SURIs and HUACAYAs nor am I cross breeding SURIs and HUACAYAs. I am ONLY breeding HUACAYAs and am simply taking advantage of the great genetics that the NAPOLEON line offers.

JACQUELINE Rose de LaCroix

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 32328462DOB: 6/29/200519 yrs
JACQUELINE has perfect conformation and dense, lustrous fleece. Although beige out of a white sire and a white dam, her first offspring has ROSE GREY in her lustrous, fawn fleece! Jacqueline's fleece has remained quite fine [approximately 20 microns]. A great genetic attribute in an older female. Although only bred twice in her life [as a 3 yr. old & an 8 yr. old], she has conceived easily on the first breeding and is currently bred to a young ACCOYO herd sire, Odyssey's ACCOYO Silk Sheetz [see his web page]. This breeding should produce a May 2014 cria with excellent conformation and fleece that is dense, very fine, and very lustrous with excellent staple length and, possibly, color! If you want to add more to your gene pool, especially ACCOYO genetics through her cria, JACQUELINE may be just what you need.

Description

Sells with a FREE breeding. Smaller size and extensive fiber coverage, two characteristics that complement each other genetically, combine well with in Napoleanna's lustrous, beige fiber. Napoleanna inherited her smaller size, extensive fiber coverage, and lovely fiber from both her sire, NAPOLEON [ARI #829086: light fawn] and her well-known grandsire, 6Peruvian ROMANTICO [ARI #808074: light fawn]. She has one beautiful spot of Rose Grey in her solid siege blanket and GREY genetics through her maternal grandsire, 4Peruvian MAGNIFICO [ARI #166585: dark rose grey]! NAPOLEANNA is also a maternal granddaughter of the west coast's exceptional SILAS of Bolivia. "Combine exceptional lock structure, lack of modulation, density, and extraordinary fleece fineness (micron of 17 when imported in 1998) and you come up with Silas, a gentle white stud that passed his incredible fiber to his offspring. With perfect conformation, Silas was the complete package, and the fact that he threw color made him an exceptional herd sire. Best of all, these attributes were consistently impressed in his cria. Silas of Bolivia has 72 registered offspring." [Debby Carlson-Filer/Hy-Haven Farm/Ischua, New York] If you are seeking all of these characteristics [crimp, lasting fineness, luster, staple length] in a gentle female with beautiful conformation, a beautiful head, and the possibility of producing Rose Grey, seriously consider NAPOLEANNA. Napoleanna sells with a free breeding to any male at Rainbow Mountain Alpacas/Charles & Diana Sheesley.
