This gorgeous TRUE BLACK female has outstanding presence, brilliant and well defined fiber and a charming personality. For alpaca breeders focusing on black, Olive has very bright and bundling fleece, buttery, soft and fine handle, excellent coverage and even staple length throughout.
Olive's conformation is excellent with proper depth of chest and balanced proportions. She demonstrated her quality by taking first place at her very first show--at the 2007 AOBA NATIONALS no less!
Olive is the daughter of JAMAKA, a full Peruvian herdsire who has also taken home blues at Nationals. Jamaka's genetics are black with his bay black sire being the well-known import PERUVIAN JAXON.
Olive had her first cria in an easy and unassisted birth in July/09...and what an incredibly protective mother she was! He had velvety soft fiber with very correct conformation and was easily sold as soon as he was weaned. Her second to 6X Blue and 2X Champion GREY Herdsire, "SMOKEY JOE," (ALSO SOLD) was an energetic TRUE BLACK with soft crimpy fiber and a proud stance. We were so please that she was rebred again to SMOKEY. Smokey Joe is a flashy gray male who is as handsome as he is rare. Bold and upright, he carries himself proudly, drawing the attention as soon as he enters the pasture. Super dense with incredible coverage, he has strong bone, a straight top line and excellent conformation.--And what color!!!
His full Peruvian sire is the famous herd sire "NIC NAC," a gray who took the Reserve Color Champion at the 2000 National Conference. His dam, "4Peruvian Midnight Hour," has equally great conformation and a true black fleece. Smokey Joe boasts both colors with gray prominence. Smokey has followed his father into the show ring, winning many blue and championship ribbons.
