Incredibly Dense!! Amazing Offspring!!

Bevo of Copper Ridge

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Bay Black
AOA# 30336278DOB: 10/22/200519 yrs
My Favorite alpaca!!!! We spotted this young male at the AOBA conference and were immediately intrigued by what we saw. Bevo is what is referred to as "The Total Package" and five separate judges have mentioned just that. He has incredible density and coverage, and tons of character in his soft-handling fleece. His large boned yet compact frame make a second look common. Under the term "alpaca phenotype" you just might find a picture of Bevo. When we teach people about conformation, we use Bevo as the example. These characteristics are all a must for any breeding program. Bevo's calm, confident, gentle personality just add to his total appeal. Although Bevo has won in both bay black and dark indefinite classes; his lineage of silver gray, true black, brown, fawn and beige from Chile, Bolivia and Peru shine in this package of diversity. We have bred him to females of a broad spectrum of colors to find his true identity. His first cria have arrived and they are truly amazing. They all have his heavy bone and perfect conformation (see Photo)The fleeces are very dense, very fine, with brightness and in the majority of his crias the color of the dam. The colors range from light fawn to true black. Of the offspring on our farm, the highest AFD of fleece was 19.0. We think that's pretty remarkable. Bevo's famous mid-western sire Providence Rennes, is the multiple blue ribbon winning, half-brother of Dom Lucilio. And Bevo's mother is out of Desparado, a blue ribbon winner at both AOBA and MAPACA. These are fantastic and uniquely crossed bloodlines now available in Pennsylvania. At age 15 Bevo's fleece is still remarkably consistent, exhibits beautiful structure and he continues to amaze our shearer with his density. We proudly co-own Bevo with Chris and Lori Works of Kendall Creek Farms. Can you tell...... we love this guy!!!!

Dam: MFI Shanakee

Black Silvio Daughter

MFI Shanakee

HuacayaBred (Female)True Black
AOA# 835415DOB: 6/5/200222 yrs
When we made a trip to purchase a brown, bred female, we came home with a black, maiden named Shanakee. We fell in love with this beautiful Silvio daughter at barely 8 months of age and we certainly have not been sorry. Shanakee's dense fleece is incredibly soft and crimpy. She has passed along her solid bone and beautiful coverage to every one of her crias. A Silvio daughter who produces both black and grey. Her first cria was a grey Reserve Champion and multi-blue ribbon female. Shanakee produced numerous, oustanding, herdsire quality black males. Capital Punishment, C-Cret Weapon, Catalist and Chico are a few. Cascade is Shanakee's and he's silver grey. We were so pleased with Cascade and his first cria that we decided to breed Shanakee to Sparks again. Well the cria has arrived and YIPPEE it's a girl. Since Shanakee has only produced black and grey before this, I was quite surprised when she delivered a brown cria!!!! But hey, she finally had another girl and a nice one too!!! This little female has been named 5C's Carumba. Except for the brown, she's just what we expected. She's got a very solid frame, beautiful head and nice little twizzles in her soft soft, fleece. Shanakee has been bred to our multi-champion Contesto. This will be Contesto's first cria and we expect it to be nothing short of spectacular!!!!!!

Description

Just imagine, another male from Shanakee. This guy looks just like his sire (Bevo) but with a solid Bay Black fleece. Our shearer commented on how solid Chico is, and his very fine fleece. Chico has some great genetics and characteristics to pass on to his offspring. We have just reduced Chico's price because we just can't use him......come check him out if you're in the market for a black herdsire.
