When we purchased Moonlight to add to our breeding program he was a young unproven male with flawless conformation and incredible fleece. With the genetics of Hemingway and Bueno from his sire Royal Rose and Legacy from the incomparable Legacy Gold on his dam's side we knew he was a genetic winner. The question was, could he produce? A son of Snowmass Royal Rose and Snowmass Legacy's Moonlight combines the powerhouse genetics of Peruvian Hemingway, Peruvian Bueno and 4Peruvian Legacy. He has exceptional, balanced conformation with excellent bone and wonderful proportion. He has a majestic presence and proud stance. His fiber has a high curvature and fine micron for elite fiber production. And YES, he produces! Moonlight's first cria was beyond what we had hoped for with his father's conformation and amazing fiber. The crias kept arriving and what a surprise, we have black, bay black and fawn! Who knew he would produce such dark colors with his trademark high frequency crimp and perfect bundles? With over forty cria to his name, we could not be happier with his contribution to our breeding program. Update: Moonlight is limited to two outside breeding as we are currently working to promote his stellar offspring. We do still breed moonlight to some of our elite females.

Moonshadow is a beautiful 1/2 Peruvian vicuna marked proven female. She has a nice balanced conformation and abundant fine, crimpy fleece. She has an excellent bite and nice level topline. She is an excellent mother, an easy birther with plenty of milk. Her first cria in 2005, is a stunning white female with excellent coverage and sylish head. Her 2006 cria, is a fawn male out of Phar Online owned by Abenaki Acres. His cria fleece took third place at the 2007 AFCNA Fleece Show. He was puchased by Whitehall Farm of Stillwater, NJ. Moonshadow's 2008 cria is a healthy 22lb 1/2 Accoyo male that is a standout in the pasture. He has excellent conformation with a beautiful head. His fleece is already bundled and crimpy. His micron after his first shearing is a 15! Moonshadow's 2009 Spring Cria is a beautiful fawn female. She has her mother's coloring and is showing a promising first fleece. She has been bred back for a Spring 2010 cria.

When he was first born we didn't know what to think of his fleece. It was so dense,crimpy, and someone described it as "twizzly". After his first shearing it came back as a buttery soft, dense, crimpy consistent fleece. The staple length and coverage are excelllent. His conformation and bone structure are outstanding. It's a proven fact that Buckus has exceptional fleece. In his white fleece is a small dark fawn spot. Not so good in the showring but it is proving to be a real asset to his prodgeny!
