Sire: Tuscan's Prosecco di Bella Vita

Tuscan's Prosecco di Bella Vita

HuacayaJr. Herdsire (Male)Dark Brown
AOA# 31577984DOB: 10/19/200816 yrs
Named after the fine Italian dessert wine and grape, this male is a sweet addition to our breeding program here at Black Forest Alpacas. Bella Vita expected a superior cria from Cocoa Puffe and Tuscan, and they got it. He has beautiful evenly colored dark fawn fleece with fabulous brightness and gnarly, little crimpy bundles you can feel as well as see. He has a gorgeous head, compliments from both sides of his pedigree. His dam, Cocoa Puffe, is an outstanding female at Bella Vita Ranch and she has produced an other multi-champion huacaya herdsire, El Corazon', who simply has one of the best huacaya heads we've seen. Cocoa Puffe is also the dam of Res. Color champ Chia Pet, multiple blue ribbon Chocolat and grand dam of Res. Color Champion Angelina. Just looking at Prosecco, one can see he has great show potential. His half brother, El Corazon', sheared 11 pounds as a 3 year old in 2008. Long staple length is the added benefit from Cocoa Puffe as noted in all her crias. Tuscan's brightness and crimp definition are apparent in Prosecco's elite fleece. He is a farm and show favorite. People at the shows stop to look at him because of his "teddy bear" appearance. Definitely a show stopper!! He is so nice that Bella Vita Ranch wanted to retain 1/2 interest! He is showing strong breeding behavior and is reliable enough to use for spit testing but he is not yet proven. He has started breeding and we have confirmed pregnancies. We are really excited about his offspring!

SilverCreek Daughter

Calista D559 AOA

HuacayaOpen (Female)Light Brown
AOA# 825379DOB: 8/17/200024 yrs
Calista is a beautiful granddaughter of P. Pluro and is our best colored foundation female. You would be hard pressed to find a better breeding female when it comes to confirmation, fleece, and breeding capability. She has a fine fleece with great coverage. Her light brown female 2005 cria, Ion's Beauty, out of Ion is nothing but amazing (Beauty got a 2nd place at TxOLAN 06, a 4th at MOPACA 06, 3rd at GWAS 06, and 1st @ ABR's Fall Fest 06). Beauty also has nice coverage and is uniform throughout. Calista was bred back to SA Peruvian Odessey on 7 Jun 05 for a May 2006 female cria we named Blackforest's Hot Cocoa. Her color is essentially a "hot cocoa" dark brown color. Hot Cocoa placed in several shows both in Halter and Fleece and sold to a farm in New Mexico last May 2009. Calista delivered another female in 2009, a light fawn female out of Equilizer. Calista was bred to Snowmass Incan XXXtreme for a June 2010 cria. Red Beard is a multi-pinto but his blanket is a solid color, a beautiful rich medium brown color. Red Beard has won two 1st places and a Reserve Color Championship and another 1st Place in the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show 2008 in the SOLID BROWN JUVENILE CLASS. Needless to say, we are not anxious to sell Calista because she is such an outstanding foundation female that produces colored show winners every year. If you are looking for "Calista" quality but not for $5,000, please take a look at her son or daughter--Red Beard or Creme Brulee'--at very reasonable prices. Produces award winning crias: Ion's Beauty, Blackforest's Hot Cocoa, Blackforest's Red Beard, Blackforest's Sequoia, and Blackforest's Creme Brulee'
