Prestige is not retired from breeding but this listing is for reference purposes. Prestige is a white full Accoyo son of Pachacuti, who is now deceased. This wonderful male has had a very illustrious career in the showring, having won four blue ribbons, two color championships and a reserve color championship. All this was accomplished in very large level five shows against some of the most highly recognized herdsires in the country. He has presence and attitude which he infuses into his offspring. Additionally, he has proven to be a pre-potent herdsire, passing on his superior traits to his offspring; each cria that he has sired are a great representation of what this male can produce. They have developed high frequency bundling crimp, which is uniform in micron and character, on perfectly conformed frames. In November 2012, we decided to have Dr. Evans do a skin biopsy on Prestige as a 12-year-old breeding male. Knowing that the recommended age for doing such a skin biopsy is 18-24 months of age, we knew that we might be doing a disservice to Prestige. However, Dr. Evans’ comments proved us wrong. Here are his comments: “Prestige is awesome for a 12 year old male. Density of 62; secondary fibers still average 22.2 microns and his primary fibers still average below 30 microns with a spread of 7.4 microns. The average micron spread in 91 of the better males in 2011 was 8.22 microns. Prestige’s stats are very genetically strong for a 12 year-old. Most 12 year-old huacaya males that I have tested show 1/3 less density as well as fineness of fiber. This boy is ahead of his time.” The best part is that in addition to having super fineness, he tends to allow the dam’s color to pass through so you can anticipate color in the offspring while still achieving fineness of fleece.

Maple Brook Shabu

AOA# 1386615DOB: 9/25/200420 yrs
In the fall of 2011, Shabu delivered a male cria sired by Accoyo America Enterprise. This full Accoyo male is extremely bright with wonderful density and nicely developing crimp. Wade Gease, the well-respected AOBA judge who we hired to do a herd evaluation in December 2011, declared that he appears to display all the qualities of a show quality male. This lovely full Accoyo has great presence and is covered with ultra-fine fleece. Her sire is Maple Brook's multi-champion Accoyo Bolivar who is a Vengador son. Her dam, Accoyo Angelique, is a daughter of Accoyo Godfather, a relatively rare bloodline in this country. When we sheared on April 30, 2012, Shabu's histogram came back as follows: AFD 21.1; SD 3.7; CV 17.7; 2.0% greater than 30. As an eight-year-old, you can't get much better than that. Isn't that what this fiber industry is all about and what we should be breeding for! During a visit with a customer and his consultant, we had the consultant take a look at Shabu's fleece. She could barely contain her excitement when she took a look at the "matchstick bundles" in this little girl's fleece that go all the way down to her belly button.

Description

TOO LATE--CONTRACT PENDING!!! Sired by our multi-champion herdsire, Prestige, who, along with extreme fineness and high frequency fleece, consistantly produces offspring with fineness AND low SDs and CVs--all the ingredients for long-lasting fineness. Her dam, Shabu, has wonderfully fine fiber with matchstick bundling. Pristine should be ready to breed in the spring of 2010. We are thrilled to be able to offer her maiden breeding to our MF full Accoyo herdsire, Accoyo America Enterprise. This young male, at the age of 21.5 months, had a histogram that would be impressive for a white male--AFD 19.5; SD 3.6; CV 18.7 with only 0.6% greater than 30--even more impressive for a medium fawn! No surprise considering his sire, Accoyo Centurian, was the 2005 AOBA Nationals Fawn Color Champion. We feel certain that this pairing should produce an outstanding cria, quite possibly one with color.
