Accoyo Godfather was phenotypic perfection, purely and simply. We were pleased to have him as a principal herdsire at our farm, having been admirers of "his work" for several years now. We were unsure as to his age, but considering he was a plantel herdsire before he was imported to the US, he lived to be at least 20 years old. He also imparts to his offspring a high frequency, super-bright fleece with regularity. In fact, we are impressed with the character, density and fineness of his offspring here. Godfather was truly a one-of-a-kind stud male. We are fortunate to have two full Accoyo sons of his, Consigliere and Goodfella. While we have Consigliere on the market, we will be keeping Goodfella. Veronia, a full Accoyo El Nino daughter, is a nice and square female who had been bred to our champion MF herdsire, Accoyo America Enterprise, for a mid-June 2015 cria. The resulting male cria, Brut, named for for his champagne color, is already on his way to developing into a fine young male with tremendous brightness and beautiful crimp. Enterprise, Brut's sire, is producing champion after champion all the while maintaining his fineness well into maturity. Legacy is one of the last cria born to SuperNova, who played an integral role in Cas Cad Nac's breeding program, before he died in 2010. He has an absolutely incredible fleece, with a 2015 AFD of 19.6. Imagine Royal Baby fineness as a near five-year-old! Not only is it fine, but is extremely dense as well. It was the softness of his fleece that earned him BEST HAND in the 2012 VAOBA fleece show, and more recently, the 2014 PAOBA Alpaca Showcase. He is not only dense but his fiber is BRIGHT, fine and has very high frequency. Even at his third shearing Legacy produced ultra-fine royal baby fiber with an AFD of 18.2. The fact that she has been bred to Legacy just reinforces the odds of a stellar offspring. Her full Accoyo daughter, Belmont, sired by our champion herdsire, Enterprise, had a first-year histogram of 17.2/3.2/18.7/0.4. Those numbers represent uniformity along with fineness. Additionally, Belmont has a very long stable length. Her conformation is boxy and her correct is bite. Predictability is a good thing and there is every reason to think that this spring cria will be of the highest quality, also. All the ingredients are there to make "outstanding" possible.
