GLR Picasso is sired by Shavano, the 2010 AAA Dark Herdsire of the Year. His mother was one of our ranch favorites, and top producers of all time, Rock Star's Peruvian Paloma, also a multiple color champion herself. His micron count is 15.8, one of the lowest colored suri micron counts we have ever experienced at Great Lakes Ranch at the time. His luster in incredible and at only 6.2 months of age he entered his first show and came away with the Brown Male Reserve Color Championship at the 2010 AAA Futurity and the 2010 GWAS in Denver. He is greasy to the touch and has a great head and full beard with amazing coverage ever since he was born. Picasso's first offspring was GLR Amayah, out of one of our best producing foundation females, GLR Amelita, and she topped our crop of kids on the ranch for that year and took 2nd at both the AAA Futurity and MAPACA, the biggest show of the year, and went on to win the Reserve Brown Female Color Championship as a juvenile at the 2013 AOBA Nationals. Amayah, the next year went on to continue to win color championships and a coveted Judges Choice Award at the AAA Futurity, and Brown Color Champion at the Suri Network Fleece show. Picasso himself was 1st in his class in the Mature Brown Male Class and was favorably talked about by senior judge Jude Anderson for his luster and regrowth on his third fleece. His second daughter a beautiful true black female named GLR Jamiyah was a multiple color champion and earned 2 Judges Choice awards at the 2015 AOA Nationals that the 2015 MAPACA Jubilee. Two notable 2015 cria that made waves in the show ring in the spring of 2016 were GLR Joaquin, who started his show career at just over six months old and won the Reserve Brown Color Championship at the 2016 AOA Nationals and also at the Mapaca Jubilee. GLR Sombria, another Picasso daughter started her show career at just seven months old and won the 2016 AOA, MAPACA and GWAS Black Female Color Championship and the 2016 AAA Futurity Reserve Black Female Championship . On the first round of micron testing, Picasso's kids are standouts. Dam:

LCA Jaimica

SuriBred (Female)Dark Brown
AOA# 1259551DOB: 5/2/200618 yrs
We purchased Jaimica from Jack and Kelly Armstrong of Latah Creek. A three time Color Champion, Jaimica is a beautiful mahogany brown, dense, and super lustrous with a gorgeous head and a calm and wonderful disposition. Her sire is two time AAA Futurity Grey Champion, Prince Greystone. Her dam is Snowmass Foxy Lady, who Don and Julie Skinner consider one of the top two dams of their Snowmass suri herd. Jaimica's first cria born was a super lustrous and greasy fawn Rico daughter. In 2009, she had a killer true black Shavano son who made his debut in the show ring at the AAA Futurity in Oklahoma City, and won Reserve Black Male Color Champion, then on to GWAS and AOBA Nationals. In 2015 his offspring earned Rastamon the AAA Dark Reserve Herdsire of the Year. He is unquestionably the most dense, greasy and lustrous black we have ever produced on the farm. Jaimica's 2011 cria, also sired by Shavano was another jet black, dense and lustrous cria...but a girl this time, GLR Jamaica. Jamiaca was a multiple Color Champion over her two year show career, ending it at AOBA Nationals with her last Color Championship and the coveted Judges Choice Award. She was purchased by Linda Kondris of Pines Edge Suri Ranch in CO. In 2012 Jaimica was bred to GLR Picasso and gave birth to yet another true black female GLR Jamiyah who won Black Female Color Champion at the 2015 AOA Nationals, and Black Female Color Champion and Female Judges Choice at both the AAA Futurity and the MAPACA Jubilee .Her 2014 Cinders son, is mahogany brown just like her named GLR Justice. This young guy was probably the nicest male cria we had in our crop of kids from 2014. He was purchased by Linda Kondris and Mike and Janet Wilkins. Jaimica's 2015 male cria, sired by Picasso, GLR Joaquin ended his first year on the show circuit winning Reserve Brown Male Color Champion at AOA Nationals, the 2016 MAPACA Jubilee and 3rd place at the AAA Futurity starting his first show at just a few days over 6 months old. Jaimica just keeps pumping them out! Jaimica is bred back to Cinders the 2016 Dark Herd Sire of the Year ( closed to outside breedings) and expecting a late fall 2016 cria.

Description

We have high hopes for GLR Jamiyah. She is the daughter of LCA Jaimica and GLR Picasso. Her mother Jaimica, has produced three true black offspring. Her first two were GLR Rastamon, a true black Shavano ( 2010 Herdsire of the Year) son who had a follicle density of 68, the densest alpaca of any color that we have ever produced on our ranch. The next cria was GLR Jamaica, who was the Color Champion at Mapaca and AOBA Nationals in 2012, and then the 2013 AAA Futurity and AOBA Nationals Color Champion. On her final entrance into the show ring she earned the earned the coveted AOBA National's Judge's Choice. Picasso, her sire, had his own success in his show career, earning multiple Color Championships. He had an impressive micron count of 15.8 and sired one of our favorite females on the ranch from our crop of 2012 kids, GLR Amayah, who was, as a juvenile, the Reserve Brown Female Color Champion at the 2013 AOBA Nationals went on to the 2014 AOA Nationals where she was the Brown Female Color Champion and then to the AAA Futurity where she was Color Champion Again and Judges Choice. In addition to Jamiyah's impressive pedigree of award winning siblings, and sire, she is quite impressive in her presence even at this young age. She has a beautiful head, solid legs with great bone, excellent luster and fineness and the lock and density to match. Her first show was the 2014 AAA Futurity in Kansas City where she placed first in her class as a juvenile at only 7 months old. We look forward to seeing how she matures! At the 2015 AOA Nationals she was Color Champion and Judges Choice Female. At the 2015 AAA Futurity she was Balck Female Color Champion and finished h career as the black Female Color Champion and Judges Choice Female at the 2015 MAPACA Jubilee .She is bred to Cinders and expecting late fall 2015.
