GLR Rastamon

SuriHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 31115674DOB: 8/28/200915 yrs
GLR Rastamon is the densest (Follicle Density 68, micron 20.9) blackest, true black that we have ever produced on the ranch. His sire is Shavano, our true black 1/2 Accoyo Black Color Champion. His mother, LCA Jaimica, is a 5Peruvian Silken daughter, one of Snowmass Alpacas very favorite dams, and one of the reasons that we bought Jaimica from Jack and Kelly Armstrong a few years back. This guy is jet black with no tipping, what so ever, and very impressive in comformation and in bone. He stands upright and proud, even as a juvenile and was awarded the Reserve Black Male Color Championship at his first show, at seven months old, at the 2010 AAA Futurity. His first crop of kids produced plenty of Color and Reserve Color Champions and the second crop followed suit. In theory, based on his fiber stats and pedigree, we hoped that he would step up the quality of his offspring to another level from his dad, AAA Futurity 2010 Herd Sire of the Year, Shavano. So far we are more than impressed with his kids and have him bred to more than half of our foundation females for cria in 2014! His offspring in 2015 earned him the title of AAA Futurity Reserve Dark Herd Sire of the Year. GLR Rastamon is closed to outside breedings. Awards Received 2010 AAA Futurity- 1st, true black juvenile males- Reserve Black Male Color Champion 2010 GWAS- 1st, true black juvenile male 2015 AAA Futurity Reserve Dark Herd Sire of the Year

GLR Kokolatte

SuriBred (Female)Dark Silver Grey
AOA# 32138382DOB: 8/29/201014 yrs
GLR Kokolatte as a cria was as cute as they come. She is without question our favorite modern grey foundation female. A Synergy daughter with a Seattle Mist mom, she is dark silver grey, upright proud and deep dark silver grey. She has coverage and then some, from her wooly ears and beard all the way down to her toes. Her fleece is greasy and dense and has a micron count of 20.1. She was Reserve Grey Female Color Champion at the 2012 Mapaca Show, 3rd at the AAA Futurity and Color Champion at the 2012 AOBA Nationals. She is the sort that turns heads with her striking looks and presence. She has a beautiful jet black 2014 Rastamon daugher, GLR Korinna who did well on the circuit at the biggest shows and was purchased by Linda Kondris of Pines Edge Suri Alpacas. Kokolatte's 2014 female cria GLR Kaiya was a fawn female who placed in the top of her class in 2015 at two of the biggest shows of the year. Kokolatte's 2015 female cria, GLR Cocoa is almost a clone of her mother, but sired by Rastamon. Definitely as high on the "cute factor" as her mother as a kid, Cocoa, at her first show in 2016 as barely a six month old won the Reserve Grey Female Championship at the AAA Futurity. Cocoa will be very competitive we think, just like her mother when she competes as a yearling next year. Kokolatte is bred back once again to Rastamon and expecting a fall 2016 cria.

Description

GLR Dreadlock is just what we were hoping for when we bred GLR Rastamon to our 2012 AOBA Nationals Grey Color Champion mom, GLR Kokolatte. Kokolatte is a beautiful dark silver grey great grand daughter of 4 P Condor. Dreadlock's papa, GLR Rastamon, is the densest male we have ever produced on the ranch of any color with a follicle density of 68. Not bad for a true black. Dreadlock is square, with a great head and upright presence that goes along with the excellent fiber characteristics of notable luster, lock, coverage and density. He has a nice wedge shaped suri head and an easy going personality like his dad and grandpa, Rastamon and Shavano. This little guy has not only a noteworthy pedigree of champion relatives but also a deep lineage of color producing genetics on both sides of his pedigree. He is ready to show this spring.
