Snowmass RRoyal Fox

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 30820500DOB: 7/21/200717 yrs
Fox is going on 17 and acts like he's 10. If you want better fineness EPDs and uniform, fine, pigmented gray fleeces with lots of crimps per inch and essentially no guard hair, he's the one! This line produces lingering 13 to 19 micron pigmented gray fleeces...consistently. Fox's first five fleeces were combined into one lot to make yarn at Heart and Soul and they commented on the uniformity of the lot. Thanks to his sire, Royal Bronze, Fox is a master at overall uniformity, removing guard hair and fining down fleeces and adding more crimps per inch, good staple length, along with deep and vivid colors. He's a SILVER GRAY, SNOWMASS BRED, AOBA NATIONAL COMPOSITE CHAMPION and well proven to produce healthy, correct, typey progeny! He is highly ranked for other traits too. He virtually removes all guard hair, including belly and bib. We attribute this amazing ability to his sire, Snowmass Royal Bronze, who is recognized by Julie Skinner as having recognized as having strong vicuna traits. Density? He has royal fine daughters (see Dream Catcher) with 4+ pound tui blankets and SDs in the 3s. Character? Gray daughter, Mellona, is 14.5 afd, 3.5 cv; 59 curve (not a typo) @ 21 mos. and then a 63 curve the next year! Uniformity? Hardly anything to skirt out of his progeny's fleeces. Offspring have very consistent, uniform and high yielding fleeces...Little to no skirting is needed for these big blanket fleeces. Primary and secondary fibers are very similar, even across colors in the gray fleeces, most of which are pigmented silver grays. In every offspring you will see higher frequency & amplitude crimp. ZERO to minimal guard hair...no matter the dam or color of the cria. You'll likely never see any guard hair on the belly of a Fox offspring. Soundness and health, correct phenotype, conformation and movement. Even dispositions and very intelligent...and even a few silly personalities. Certified Sorted graded Fox's 3 y.o. champion for "WORSTED applications". No W, LF or MF crias and no blue eyes. -Gray dtr, Kristiana (sold at AOBA auction): EPDs 2% fineness and placed: RC, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th; bought her back in 2024. -Gray son (Irish Meadows) - 1st Futurity. -Black dtr. (Irish Meadows) produced a black Champion son by Jacob Black. -Gray dtr. Rayna (Sold to Dusk Till Dawn Alpacas at AOBA auction for $16k)- 1st @ Alpacapalooza 2012; RC/2nd GMAF. -Gray dtr. Silver Truffles - Purchased by Alpaca Country Estates. Other grandkids are winning ribbons too.

Top producer. Journie ribboned in every show she was entered. A judge described her fleece as highly advanced for a grey and another commented on her brightness and long staple length. She is healthy with correct conformation, bite and proportions from her nose to her toes as well as a lovely, uniformly fine (low SD) and bright fleece. She has one of the most typey heads you'll find on a gray and a people friendly disposition. Her sire is 7x champion Peruvian Black Epic who is considered to be the best black sires in the country. He's out of a grey dam, yet only 5 of Epic's 89 registered offspring are grey at this writing. Epic is known for his uniformly fine and very dense fleece and his offspring have earned over 50 championships. Epic's fleece statistics: 2000: 20.5/3.3/16.1/1.8 (cria fleece) 2001: 22.8/4.0/17.3/4.2; 4.5 lb. blanket 2003: 5.5 lb. blanket 2005: 15 pounds total! Journie's fine-fleeced dam is a daughter of the famous Aussie Rockford and PLA's Silver Empress (dam of the famous black, Michelangelo). Coincidentally, I purchased by first alpacas from Pine Lake Alpacas.

Shaddow's crias area all healthy with beautiful fleeces, are good looking and crimpy with very good density and fineness and uniform with minimal guard hair. He has not disappointed with any of his offspring. He was shown as a two year old and earned 3 first place ribbons and 3 second place ribbons. He has very correct conformation and movement. His fleece is huge, bright and beautiful...very dense and long fleece with soft handle and aligned, high definition crimp year after year!. He lives with all my other males and is the alpha of the group. Excellent bloodlines: Danko, Carbon Copy, Jacob Black, Royal Fawn, Lancaster, 5P Camelot.

Description

2018 cria is a fine, crimpy and silky maroon female by Constantino named Merlowe. Histogram of MSG daughter American Dream (purchased by Delphi Alpacas): AFD 13.9 m / S D 3.1 / 22.1 CV / 0.3 >30 Wow. Sired by our Patriot. Pretty "Kate" is our best gray female. She inherited the best traits from her famous gray bloodlines of Peruvian Black Epic (gray dam), Snowmass Royal Bronze (RRoyal Fox's sire), Peruvian Casanova and Aussie Rockford. She has an advanced gray fleece...very uniform in fineness and color, long staple length, high frequency crimp, density w/ low SD and great length), complete coverage, beautiful phenotype in adulthood, correct conformation, proportions and movement. Kate's tui fleece couldn't be shown because it was damaged after shearing...turned into a bed by our Great Pyrenees who broke into the area where fleeces were stored. Sire is our stunning, full Peruvian, Snowmass RRoyal Fox, the 2010 AOBA Gray Male Composite Champion sired by Snowmass Royal Bronze and out of a Snowmass Peruvian Casanova daughter who produced three Futurity winners. Her dam is our beautiful Black Epic's Journie, who in several shows never left the ring without a ribbon thanks to her very fine, crimpy and abundant fleece. Journie is extremely typey and is a rare gray offspring of Hobby Horse's Peruvian Black Epic, the most famous true black sire in the country out of 5P Klassique Grey and by 4P Black Magic. Journie's gray dam is an Aussie Rockford (famous gray stud that needs no introduction) daughter out of PLA's Silver Empress, dam of the famous black Michelangelo. I bought my first alpacas from PLA...Pine Lake Alpacas (retired) one of the first alpaca farms in the country.

Awards

Her 2014 blanket fleece is still uniformly baby fine with very high frequency crimp and weighs 3.6 pounds, unskirted.
Her 2013 blanket weighed 4.2 lb., but was made into a bed by our Great Pyr :>( who got through the fencing around the fleeces.
