The Rock was the obvious name for this male from the day that he was born. Even at a few days old, The Rock was solid, big-boned and squarely built. Long, soft fleece covered him right down to his toes.
He is full Peruvian with Accoyo, Alianza, and Kenamari ancestry. Only two males were brought in from the Kenamai region in the 1996 import. Both were picked out by Cameron Holt, one of the world's leading authorities on alpaca fleece. Combined with the Rock's Canadian and Australian heritage, and his relationship to some of the best males in the United States, The Rock brings new vigor and bloodstock to the mating game. Ivano, Peppano, Victor, Vaccoyo, Vengador, and Drambui all stand behind The Rock.
The Rock, like his sire and grandsires, carries a dense, long and fine fleece. He SHEARED OVER 12 LBS. OF FLEECE AT TWO YEARS. When he is shorn, his fleece expands as it is taken off of his body...he is that dense. His fleece coverage still goes from is top knot right down to his toes. Because of the gray on his face, we expect that he has the potential to throw gray, just like his sire, Adrenalin.
The Rock has done well in shows among significant competition and garnered a Reserve Champion under Amanda Vandenbosch at a large, competitive show.
If you are looking to improve fleece length, density, and bone size, The Rock is an excellent choice.
