HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 817456DOB: 9/5/199925 yrs
MacDhui's ARI certificate reads like a veritable "Who's Who" of the nation's top grey alpacas! His sire, Request the Best, is one of the most spectacular grey herdsires to be found anywhere, a multiple blue ribbon winner who placed first at the AOBA Nationals for three successive years. Dhui's grandsire on his father's side is the great medium rose grey, Cisco Kid, who is also sire to the famous General Schwarzkopf. From his black dam, MacDhui has inherited perfect conformation and a grey and black pedigree going back four generations, including SA Silverado and The Silversmith. Quite apart from his star-studded pedigree, Ben MacDhui is well known on the show circuit as a top quality grey herdsire in his own right. At MaPaca 2002, Mike Safley pronounced him "the densest alpaca in the class" and at the 2002 Virginia Classic Dr. Anthony Stachowski remarked on his "exquisite head" and "exemplary density". Other judges comments include "wonderful fleece", "very typey conformation" and "stylish". MacDhui is a real head-turner, with a wonderful temperament, excellent coverage, conformation and fiber. His first son, the half-Peruvian rose grey Kinross, sold as a future herdsire at only 4 months of age and won a blue ribbon in his first show. His first daughter, Shannon of Cairngorm, placed second in the "Bred and owned female" class at the 2005 Virginia Classic and sold within a week of being offered for sale. His second daughter, Eilwen, sold before she was weaned and without ever being listed for sale and placed third in halter at the 2006 Virginia Classic. His medium silver grey son, Skye, sold as a herdsire prospect and won a blue ribbon in yearling halter at the Level V Buckeye Show in 2006. Elin, his beautiful half-Peruvian dark brown daughter, won a blue ribbon at MAPACA in 2007!

Miss Wise Obsession

HuacayaBred (Female)True Black
AOA# 821893DOB: 5/26/200024 yrs
A proven half-Peruvian black beauty, Miss Wise has inherited lovely crimpy fiber, extremely nice conformation and a rare bloodline from her two black parents. She is one of only 11 offspring out of Lanark?s Obsession (deceased), a phenomenal true black full Peruvian male. Her sire had excellent conformation, good bone and outstanding fiber, and was out of two true black Peruvian imports. Her dam is Miss Midnight Madness, who represents all the desirable qualities of a foundation female - fleece, conformation, milk and maternal traits. Miss Wise?s dam and silver half brother have both won national ribbons for their fiber, so this girl represents the next generation in blacks and has a great breeding future ahead of her. Demelza, her first cria, is a gorgeous red/brown female with rose grey facial markings. Currently bred to the multiple ribbon-winning solid rose grey herdsire, Royal Peruvian Challenger, Miss Wise is a tall, intelligent alpaca with dramatic presence who has inherited her dam's excellent mothering abilities. She produces plenty of milk and has proven to be a very protective and caring mother. Miss Wise's Challenger cria, due in April 2004, is not included, but she will be bred, free of charge, to our champion, multiple award-winning silver grey, Ben MacDhui. Miss Wise is available individually or as part of a package with Sabrina and Donovan. Please visit our web site for more information about Miss Wise. CONGRATULATIONS AND THANKS TO SUSAN IVES OF CT ON HER PURCHASE OF THIS QUALITY, PROVEN BRED FEMALE!

Description

The Sheriff of Nottingham Hollow is now proven! He is the product of a long line of impressive black and grey genetics, Request the Best (grandsire) and Wiley Coyote (his granddam's sire). His sire, Ben Mac Dhui, is extremely calm and good natured with great presence. His dam, Miss Wise Obsession, is a rare true black offspring, only one of eleven, of Lanark's Obsession. She passes on her regal stature to The Sheriff. The Sheriff and Lady Emma have had their cria (quite early). The Deputy is doing quite well in spite of being a preemie. He has sired a female with Holiday Weekend and she is growing steadily! The Sheriff's fleece is historically the first off the farm in sales - currently we have roving and his 2010-2011 blanket on hand and are loving working with it.
