Estrada is a well-balanced male from two top parents. His Sire, Evander does it again with this amazingly dense, fine fleece male with a great handle and luster, extensive coverage and a great body. With his 2012 shearing, Estrada had over 12.6 pounds of fleece sheared off. Amazing!!! We are very excited to have Estrada in our breeding program. Alpaca judge, Wade Gease has said about Estrada, "He is the "complete package". Very nice fleece style and crimp formation throughout. He has kept his fineness/softness." Also, Judge David Barboza has said about Estrada: "His architecture and density is incredible! Spot on!" And Alpaca Fleece Judge, Cheryl Gehly has written: "Wow! Fine with great character! Quite uniform for micron.""Beautiful Fleece: fine, bright, well organized!". Awarding him first place in the competition, and again, after the fleeces third showing at the 2009 Empire Symposium and Fleece Event, she commented again;"Beautiful Fleece: fine, bright, well organized!". Estrada's fleece (its fourth showing) took yet another blue at PAOBA show, May, 2009. To date, Estrada has eight multiple Champ/Reserve Championships, and 30+ first-place, blue-ribbon awards. Dam: Island Alpaca Angelina

4Peruvian Altiplano Gold Daughter!

Island Alpaca Angelina

HuacayaOpen (Female)Beige
AOA# 30863095DOB: 5/24/200618 yrs
Angelina, one of our best females, has beautifully dense fine fleece, an incredible top-knot, a strong body and a terrific future! Angelina, was awarded her fourth? blue ribbon at the Empire Fleece event, topped even MFI Astovine, who took a R. Championship at the AOBA Fleece show! Judge Cheryl R. Gehly commented that it is "Very fine, soft, and uniform" giving it an 18.5 out of 20 possible points for fineness and handle. Angelina sheared 5-1/2 pounds of fleece at less than one year of age. This was 6% of her body weight at the time of her shearing, and is very impressive when you consider that a typical alpaca shears under four percent of fleece in a full year of growth.? With a sweet and gentle disposition, and her good looks, Angelina also has outstanding heritage; Her sire, prestigious 4Peruvian Altiplano, is an import from the Sollocata region of Peru and has produced an amazing number of show winners, Angelina included! (She was not shown prior to this, we could have expected a lot more!) Her dam, Desni, is considered one of our best females, a devoted mother and is a blue-ribbon winner herself for "Get of Dam" in 2007. For Angelina's spring breeding 2009, we partnered her with Maple Brook's Angelo (ARI#: 833149). Angelo combines the genetics of two of the most recognized Accoyo herdsires in the country, Caligula and Felix, along with the finest and most notable Allianza male in the country, Hemingway. At 15.9 micron at 8 months of age Angelo held his fineness density handle and coverage, and was awarded the well deserved Championship at the Big E in the Fall of 2003. Angelo's fiber won a blue ribbon, best brightness, champion and JUDGE'S CHOICE at the 2004 Empire Extravaganza. Angelina gave birth in June, 2010 to a truly gorgeous little boy, Angelito. He carries on his dam and sire's angelic tradition, and has himself ribboned in competitive classes. Angelina has VERY strong genetics. All of her cria look exactly like her! They have an almost perfect phenotype. They have great conformation with a strong frame, they are thick-boned, have impressive top-knots, nice thick short muzzles, and overall a beautiful and pleasing look. An amazing thing to have and we are very happy to have Angelina in our herd! For more information or photos please email us at [email protected].

CCNF Archangel/AABC Navigator Grandson!

Cassiel of Island Alpaca

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Fawn
AOA# 31788472DOB: 6/19/200915 yrs
Cassiel won the blue ribbon for both the Southern Select Alpaca Show Spin-Off and for the CABA Spin-Off in 2013!. Cassiel definitely lives up to his name (Cassiel is the name of the angel who watches the world unfold before him without interfering). He likes to sit calmly watching the antics of the cria, and enjoying the Vineyard sunshine. Cassiel is a sweet boy with a sweet face.? He is lovely and even-tempered, living up to his dam's sweet disposition and his father's excellent characteristics. Cassiel has certainly inherited excellent traits from his dam, a daughter of CCNF Archangel, and his father, PH Navigator's Commander. We look forward to seeing Cassiel's even disposition and beautiful fleece passed on to future generations- already Judge Wade Gease commented on his attractive sheen! Cassiel has impressed us with the amount of fleece he produces. In 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 Cassiel sheared off over 10 pounds of fleece. Amazing! Judge commented on his fleece for the Southern Select Alpaca Spin-Off 2013: "Nice brightness and crimp. Uniformity of micron was consistent. Handle was soft. Drafted evenly. Spins consistently. No loss in degree of production. Very nice yarn. Yarn usability should be durable and flexible. Nice brightness again! Soft and bright!" CABA 2013 Spin-Off judge comments: "This lovely fleece was a pleasure to spin and produced a luscious soft yarn." Judge's score card reveals 90 points! Amazing!
