Verticase is one of those alpacas that you know are very special the day they are born! Verticase was like no other alpaca that was ever born on our farm, he was amazing from day one! It was a joy to watch him grow and mature into the Elite Herdsire he is today. Verticase is a son of the late Snowmass Quechua. Quechua himself was a legend of his own, awarded multiple years in a row with the prestigious title of Futurity Herdsire of the Year! Verticase' fleece contains all of the characteristics that any serious Huacaya breeder would look for in an Elite Herdsire. Verticase is exhibiting unprecedented fineness and density. His micron at one year was 13.5 AFD! His fleece is extremely fine yet still carrying amazing amount of density! The results of his skin biopsy show that his density is 110 follicles/sq.mm. Consistently passing all these traits to his offspring. Verticase has the genes and proven himself to be one of the most Elite Herdsires in our Industry today. Upon reviewing his pedigree you will find the names of most of the top Herdsires in U.S. Alpaca history…Peruvian Hemingway, PPeruvian Caligula, 6Peruvian Accoyo Elite and PPeruvian Vengador. Quechua's Verticase: Snowmass Quechua X Snowmass Sabrina Owned by West Penn Alpacas, Alpacas Of the Alleghenies, and Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch

Snowmass Delta Dawn

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 321193848DOB: 7/3/201014 yrs
Snowmass Delta Dawn has given us some beautiful cria and has been a central part of our breeding program. No matter which herd sire she has been bred to, she has produced excellence. Her last 3 cria have been out of Snowmass Elite Legend, including the current female cria --TP Delta River Song. Snowmass Delta Dawn is a typey, female with solid conformation and style. She has had a persistently fine fleece. At 8 years of age, she still has an AFD of 20.6 microns. Her pedigree is rich in color and heritage. Her daughter, TP Delta River Song is gorgeous. She is typey, well balanced and has a fleece that is fine, dense, and consistent. She is almost 6 months old and will be ready to show soon. Snowmass Delta Dawn is currently bred to TP Matrix Jubilee (who is incredibly dense, fine, and consistent) and is due in the spring of 2019.

Description

TP Quechua Verticase' Delta Blues has been a star in our show string this year. He is upright and proud with excellent conformation and bite. He has grown well and has a beautiful, well organized, bright fleece. He has a dense, fine fleece with a luxurious handle. His dam, Snowmass Delta Dawn, is one of our treasured females who did not disappoint us with this gorgeous male. We expect great things from this young male and plan to use him in our breeding program when he is ready....he has a pedigree designed to produce high quality, dense, and fine fleeces in a program looking for quality color. When Choosing a stud male, it is essential to know that the choice is genetically sound. It is important to have the unshakable confidence that his pedigree is a product of genetics that are not only recognized as the best, but is layered generationally. This solid pedigree establishes the stud's ability to reliably pass on desirable traits, without any unfortunate surprises. Delta Blues has that kind of pedigree. His is made of generation upon generation of lines that have blessed this country with the very best alpacas. Hemingway, Vengador, Andean Bronze, Casanova, and Legacy establish his baseline. All of that via Quechua, the famous dam, Sobrina, Royal Bronze, and Nova. All of these pre-potent ancestors produced Delta Blues' dam, Snowmass Delta Dawn and his sire, Quechua's Verticase. These genetics have combined to produce a potential stud male with a strong background of color that just may carry on the incredible tradition of these elite lines. Delta Blues has proven these genetics well in the show ring. The judges have appreciated his substance of bone, his stellar frame and his appealing head style that suggest something special. His stylish look draws you in further to look at his fleece and inspection seals the deal. His fleece exhibits a bright sheen with a high frequency crimp style organized into a staple formation that is hightly aligned, indicating substantial density combined with fineness. All of this in a luscious honeycomb shade that the breeders of color so desire. His show results reflect the judges' pleasure. The icing on the cake is knowing that the sire of Delta Blues, Quechua's Verticase, boasts one of Norm Evan's best skin biopsy results. In addition, his dam, Snowmasss Delta Dawn is a championship winning female who at four years of age tested at 21.4 microns with a CV of 20.74% and a curvature of 45.62!
