HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Frostty is an independent alpaca with incredibly rare bloodlines. She is the product of two rare grey imports. This makes her lineage quite unusual, and on top of that, she is silver grey! She is a relatively large alpaca and her fleece is very dense. She always throws stunning fleece on her crias. It has been a joy to see what she produces for us every year! She is a great mother and an easy breeder. Though she is a bit older, she still has the ability and time to produce many more awesome crias! Frostty is currently nursing a handsome black male cria. He is not included in her sales price. Frostty is one of the key acquisitions to the Whispering Willows foundation herd that we have added in the last couple of years. She is a stunning grey girl, standing tall and stately in the pasture. Frostty is the sister of our champion herdsire SA Peruvian Noche Negro, and is also the sister of the well known grey herdsire Shaquille. All three are out of the outstanding 5Peruvian Quicksilver 9057. Frostty's lineage also includes the grey imports CPeruvian Stirling 105 IMPF98 and CPeruvian Silver Star 1233 IMPF98.

Description

Leo was our first cria born in 2013, and started our spring birthing season with a bang! The best way to describe Leo is "Wow!" Bright true black fleece, great density, sturdy and square conformation--this little guy appears to have it all--except for size! As he has grown, he has continued to lack behind his peers. He is built solidly and beautifully--but he is simply far too small of alpaca to qualify as a herdsire, despite his square conformation and beautiful, bright black fleece. Leo is named for Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (1452-1519), the renowned Italian Renaissance Man who was a painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. His genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived. Leo's price includes his best buddy Gus; they are being sold as a set. This pair of longtime friends is being sold as pet, fiber, or companion animals, without registration papers (i.e. as non-breeders). Both boys are very mild mannered and have been housed together since Leo was weaned. This is a very special set of pet boys--Gus has been a farm favorite since birth, even starring in a locale magazine article about our farm; Leo is a cute but little guy who is very small in size and therefore not a herdsire candidate. This is without a doubt the nicest set of pets we have ever put up for sale from our farm--both in terms of their personalities and also their beautiful coloring and fleeces.
