HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Shade, as an experienced mother, and functions well as a patient nanny to younger alpacas. She is now retired and and is being sold as a companion or pet. Shade has proven herself to be an amazing guard alpaca. She even charges the fence when there is any threat of danger or disturbance. She is laid back with both people and other alpacas. But, being so protective, she does not work well with in the pasture with dogs. Look to Shade if you desire a caring, yet watchful alpaca in your pasture! Shade is a striking True Black daughter of 6Peruvian Dom Timbo of Magical Farms, who is a widely known dark silver grey Peruvian import. Shade has exceptional conformation and bone structure, and she displays great presence. Shade has fantastic coverage, and her fleece is soft with above average density. Shade is a very attentive mother that leads well and is easily handled. Shade gave birth in June 2009, to a cute little pattern girl named Madame Marie Curie or "Marie," out of the Timoteo son Mr. Lincoln. She gave birth to another girl in June 2010, this time a solid medium brown named Alice, out of our own Sir Ivan. Shade gave birth to her third girl in a row in 2011--a cute solid true black girl named Rebecca that we're calling "Becca." Becca, out of our own Woodland Meadows Greyson, looks nice and square and has dense, crimpy, soft fleece coming in. Becca could be a very special true black girl! We were excited enough by this girl to have repeated the breeding, which resulted in Shade's fourth girl in a row, a dark silver grey named Isabella or "Izzy," born in September 2012. In May 2014 Shade gave birth to a beautiful little boy named Ferdinand or "Ferdi," who was the last cria sired by Peruvian Noahh before his passing. Shade produced four wonderful female cria for us in consecutive years, followed by a fantastic little boy. E-mail us today to inquire regarding Shade.

Super Sam Son!

HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Rocketman, known affectionally as Rocket, is the best fawn herdsire ever to stand stud on our herdsire row. He has it all! His fleece is incredibly dense, crimpy and soft. His conformation is flawless, with stunning coverage. He has presence! He is also enormous and is easily the biggest alpaca on our farm. This guy really has the WOW factor. He has legendary bloodlines hailing from High Plains in Canada. With the dark in his background, Rocket can throw dark cria as well. We recommend breeding him to grey. He is also a multi champion in the show ring! He is charming with people and loves to show himself off. He will certainly provide visual interest for whoever visits your farm. Rocket loves to watch the girls, and is happiest with them in sight! This is an ELITE alpaca, that would be a signature stud on ANY farm’s herdsire row. This is a prime opportunity to improve your breeding program. High Plains Rocketman is now standing stud at Fishback Creek Farm in Indiana! We have deemed Rocketman “the stampede.” This is due not only to his curious, high-energy pacing as he watches the girls, but also to his ability to overwhelm you with his brilliant phenotype. Rocketman has it all: large size, gorgeous conformation, excellent coverage and beautiful fleece. He has the signature HFL Super Sam head. His fleece is incredibly dense and soft with robust staple length and brightness! This guy is the complete package – he definitely has that “WOW” factor that stops people in their tracks! Rocketman’s genetics are the definition of elite. Rocketman is a Super Sam son; HFL Super Sam is one of the most decorated males in the Canadian herd. For the breeders who know Super Sam…no explanation is needed. For those who haven’t heard of Super Sam…he is THE 16x Get-of-Sire award winning sire…THE Futurity winning herdsire male….THE herdsire to Futurity and Color and Supreme Champions in a whole array of colors….THE stud who changed the way the Canadians defined a true impact stud sire…THE stud who is CLOSED to outside breedings. Rocketman is the genetics package you need to have in your herd! Our thanks to Rick and Evelyn Derksen of High Plains Alpacas in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for allowing us to acquire this multiple champion male.

Description

Isabella, who we've nicknamed "Izzy," was a fall 2012 cria born at Whispering Willows Alpacas. She has a classic silver grey phenotype with bright black fleece and a cute white pattern on her face. She is EXTREMELY cute both in looks and personality! Isabella is our fourth consecutive girl (in four years) out of SBF Nightshade, one of our most consistent producers and best mothers; Izzy is sired by our own Woodland Meadows Greyson, a stunning light grey male with a spotless blanket! Izzy is full sister to our stunning true black foundation girl Rebecca J Cole, who we call "Becca." Isabella is named for Isabella Lucy Bird, a nineteenth-century English explorer, writer, and a natural historian. Ms. Bird documented her extensive travels around the world to Australia, Hawaii, the Colorado rocky mountains, India, Tibet, Persia, Kurdistan, Turkey, China, Korea, and Morocco. Featured in journals and magazines for decades, Bird became something of a household name. She became the first woman inducted into the Royal Geographical Society, and was elected to membership of the Royal Photographic Society. "There never was anybody," wrote the British magazine The Spectator, "who had adventures as well as Miss Bird."
