HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Shade, as an experienced mother, and functions well as a patient nanny to younger alpacas. She is now retired and and is being sold as a companion or pet. Shade has proven herself to be an amazing guard alpaca. She even charges the fence when there is any threat of danger or disturbance. She is laid back with both people and other alpacas. But, being so protective, she does not work well with in the pasture with dogs. Look to Shade if you desire a caring, yet watchful alpaca in your pasture! Shade is a striking True Black daughter of 6Peruvian Dom Timbo of Magical Farms, who is a widely known dark silver grey Peruvian import. Shade has exceptional conformation and bone structure, and she displays great presence. Shade has fantastic coverage, and her fleece is soft with above average density. Shade is a very attentive mother that leads well and is easily handled. Shade gave birth in June 2009, to a cute little pattern girl named Madame Marie Curie or "Marie," out of the Timoteo son Mr. Lincoln. She gave birth to another girl in June 2010, this time a solid medium brown named Alice, out of our own Sir Ivan. Shade gave birth to her third girl in a row in 2011--a cute solid true black girl named Rebecca that we're calling "Becca." Becca, out of our own Woodland Meadows Greyson, looks nice and square and has dense, crimpy, soft fleece coming in. Becca could be a very special true black girl! We were excited enough by this girl to have repeated the breeding, which resulted in Shade's fourth girl in a row, a dark silver grey named Isabella or "Izzy," born in September 2012. In May 2014 Shade gave birth to a beautiful little boy named Ferdinand or "Ferdi," who was the last cria sired by Peruvian Noahh before his passing. Shade produced four wonderful female cria for us in consecutive years, followed by a fantastic little boy. E-mail us today to inquire regarding Shade.

Description

Ferdie is akin to a modern silver grey phoenix! He is the last son of the late Peruvian Noahh, who served his last several years as a key member of our herdsire row. Out of the sorrow of Noahh’s passing emerged this incredible boy! Ferdie has grown to become a potential stud who’s potential has risen like wings from the fire. His sire would be proud! The late Noahh had exceptional fleece and always threw a pretty head on his progeny; he was also a large male with interesting bloodlines. Ferdie’s dam is our consistently great mother Shade. Shade’s sire was the renowned 6Peruvian Dom Timbo. Ferdie’s wonderful silver grey fleece showed itself when we cleaned the clip from his first shearing. His fleece has very long staple length, and his softness incredible! He has some of the best handle of any animal on the farm. His density is coming in, but is hard to evaluate because of the extreme softness of his fleece. In addition to these fine traits, he also has nice crimp, solid conformation, and a wonderful presence. Ferdie is named for Ferdinand Porsche, who was an automotive engineer and founder of the Porsche car company. He is best known for creating the first gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle, as well as the Volkswagen Beetle, the Mercedes-Benz SS/SSK, and several other Porsche automobiles. In addition, Porsche designed the 1923 Benz Tropfenwagen, which was the first race car with a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. In 1996, Porsche was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, and in 1999 he posthumously won the award of Car Engineer of the Century. Keep an eye peeled for this young male: Ferdie will be on our 2015 show circuit.
