Marie is a cute little pattern girl out of one of our fantastic mothers, SBF Nightshade. Mothering skills are a heritable trait, so Marie will likely grow into a fantastic mother with great milk supply for her cria as well. Marie has a nice, square conformation like both her mother and her father. Her fleece could use some improvement in density, but is coming in very soft with nice handle and good character. While definitely a pattern alpaca, her pictures show that her blanket is solid dark brown with no white spots; her white patterning covers almost the rest of her body, but the blanket is amazingly free of spots! Marie's lineage includes two well known grandsires who were imports from Peru, Pperuvian Timoteo and 6Peruvian Dom Timbo. Her grandmothers are both out of Chilean lines rich in darker colors. Marie is named for Marie Sklodowska Curie, who was a pioneering scientist in the study of radioactivity. She was the first person honored with two different Nobel Prizes, the first female professor at the University of Paris, and the discoverer of two new elements, polonium and radium. She helped to direct the first uses of radioactivity in the treatment of cancer. The movie “Madame Curie” produced by MGM Studios in 1943 documented the life of Marie Curie. SMarie's price includes her first breeding to any Whispering Alpacas herdsire of your choice. Since we need to make room for 2010 cria, we have reduced Marie's price hoping for a quick sale. Please contact us to inquire about Marie today!

Description

Whispering Willows Alpacas reacquired this promising light brown male from one of our customers in summer 2014. Euclid is out of the late Peruvian Noahh, a fantastic male with beautiful, crimpy blue ribbon-winning fleece that he consistently passed on to his offspring. Euclid is named for Euclid of Alexandria, the well known Greek mathematician often referred to as the "Father of Geometry". He was active in Alexandria during the third century BC. His "Elements" is one of the most influential works in the history of mathematics, serving as the main textbook for teaching mathematics from the time of its publication until the early 20th century. In this book, Euclid deduced the principles of what is now called Euclidean geometry from a small set of axioms. Euclid is part of a large group of male crias we had born on (or brought back to) our farm in 2014. Unfortunately we needed to make some tough choices as to who we were going to add to our show string and who we were going to offer for sale as pets! We have made the difficult decision to offer Euclid for sale as a companion, fleece, or pet male. Euclid has incredibly crimpy brown fleece, but does not have the conformational balance and presence we would expect to see in a fawn or brown herdsire. Euclid is very respectful of his human caregivers, but does need some work on the halter. Alpacas are herd animals and cannot be kept alone, therefore we offer all of our pet animals for sale in sets of two or more--at BOGO pricing. Euclid is being offered for sale with his sidekick Ernesto for a total of $150. These boys have been buddies since they were born in the fall of 2013. These boys will make a wonderful pair of pets for the family wishing to acquire its first alpacas, or would be ideal as companions in a larger herd. They are currently intact, but are now old enough to be gelded, so could be gelded after purchase.
