The Wonder

Conan's Phenomenon

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 30933774DOB: 9/16/200717 yrs
HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Phenom is an essential black male to consider for a breeding program. He is big and strong. His conformation and coverage are excellent. Even though he is a bit older, his fleece is retaining softness and character. It is bright with a lovely handle. He features stunning bloodlines, and is a very efficient and effective breeder. All of his cria have been female until our own Fausto was born in fall 2016. How could you not be interested in a nice true black herdsire who throws female cria consistently? Phenom is ready to go to work for you! Phenomenon is a proven herdsire with all female crias on the ground so far. His 2013 bay black daughter, Cecelia, did well for herself in the show ring. He also threw his first grey girl, named Constance, in 2014. She has the potential to be truly exceptional and award-winning. From Black to Fawn to Grey, these girls all have elegance, style, and AWESOME, extremely long staple length fleece! Phenomenon’s conformation mirrors his sire the late 6Peruvian Conan. They are both tall with exceptional coverage and similar head styles. Phenomenon's pedigree is, well, phenomenal! His maternal grandsire is the famous Bolivian Black Thunder. He is a paternal half brother to the multi-champion Peruvian Lancaster. He is maternal half-brother to the grey multi-champion Victoria's Hamilton. And, now, Phenomenon is now passing these outstanding genetics on to his offspring. Phenomenon has a quiet confidence that commands attention. Whether he is in the pasture, show ring, or in “with the girls," this show-stopping male is a sight to behold. He is truly a phenomenon - his fiber is getting a tighter crimp as he ages, yet he is maintaining a beautiful, buttery soft handle! Note: All seven of Phenom's cria to date have been female!

Stately Grey Girl/ Great Mom!

Silver Frostt

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 1200232DOB: 11/25/200420 yrs
HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Frostty is an independent alpaca with incredibly rare bloodlines. She is the product of two rare grey imports. This makes her lineage quite unusual, and on top of that, she is silver grey! She is a relatively large alpaca and her fleece is very dense. She always throws stunning fleece on her crias. It has been a joy to see what she produces for us every year! She is a great mother and an easy breeder. Though she is a bit older, she still has the ability and time to produce many more awesome crias! Frostty is currently nursing a handsome black male cria. He is not included in her sales price. Frostty is one of the key acquisitions to the Whispering Willows foundation herd that we have added in the last couple of years. She is a stunning grey girl, standing tall and stately in the pasture. Frostty is the sister of our champion herdsire SA Peruvian Noche Negro, and is also the sister of the well known grey herdsire Shaquille. All three are out of the outstanding 5Peruvian Quicksilver 9057. Frostty's lineage also includes the grey imports CPeruvian Stirling 105 IMPF98 and CPeruvian Silver Star 1233 IMPF98.

Service Sire: High Plains Rocketman

Super Sam Son!

High Plains Rocketman

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn
AOA# 30469136DOB: 7/15/200618 yrs
HERD DISPERSAL UPDATE: Rocketman, known affectionally as Rocket, is the best fawn herdsire ever to stand stud on our herdsire row. He has it all! His fleece is incredibly dense, crimpy and soft. His conformation is flawless, with stunning coverage. He has presence! He is also enormous and is easily the biggest alpaca on our farm. This guy really has the WOW factor. He has legendary bloodlines hailing from High Plains in Canada. With the dark in his background, Rocket can throw dark cria as well. We recommend breeding him to grey. He is also a multi champion in the show ring! He is charming with people and loves to show himself off. He will certainly provide visual interest for whoever visits your farm. Rocket loves to watch the girls, and is happiest with them in sight! This is an ELITE alpaca, that would be a signature stud on ANY farm’s herdsire row. This is a prime opportunity to improve your breeding program. High Plains Rocketman is now standing stud at Fishback Creek Farm in Indiana! We have deemed Rocketman “the stampede.” This is due not only to his curious, high-energy pacing as he watches the girls, but also to his ability to overwhelm you with his brilliant phenotype. Rocketman has it all: large size, gorgeous conformation, excellent coverage and beautiful fleece. He has the signature HFL Super Sam head. His fleece is incredibly dense and soft with robust staple length and brightness! This guy is the complete package – he definitely has that “WOW” factor that stops people in their tracks! Rocketman’s genetics are the definition of elite. Rocketman is a Super Sam son; HFL Super Sam is one of the most decorated males in the Canadian herd. For the breeders who know Super Sam…no explanation is needed. For those who haven’t heard of Super Sam…he is THE 16x Get-of-Sire award winning sire…THE Futurity winning herdsire male….THE herdsire to Futurity and Color and Supreme Champions in a whole array of colors….THE stud who changed the way the Canadians defined a true impact stud sire…THE stud who is CLOSED to outside breedings. Rocketman is the genetics package you need to have in your herd! Our thanks to Rick and Evelyn Derksen of High Plains Alpacas in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for allowing us to acquire this multiple champion male.

Her fleece is incredibly long, with medium density and excellent handle. It is also ever so soft and has consistent crimp! Her color and beautiful head really make her a stand out. Constance also has a darling personality! She is very sociable and clucks at you when you approach her. She loves her people! Constance is a princess and takes her time; her speed is constantly set to mosey. All these attributes make her a farm favorite! We are expecting great things out of Constance! Constance is out of our full Peruvian foundation girl Silver Frostt and our fantastic true black stud Conan's Phenomenon. Constance is Phenom’s first grey offspring and a shining example of her sire’s genetic potential. Constance is named for Constance Goddard DuBois, who was an American novelist and an ethnographer. She wrote extensively between 1899 and 1908 about the native peoples and cultures of southern California. DuBois' most enduring contribution was as a self-taught ethnographer, doing pioneering studies in a period when professional academic anthropology was just becoming established in the United States. Starting in the late 1890s, she began making treks into the San Diego backcountry to meet the surviving communities of Diegueño and Luiseño Indians. Soon she was writing about their traditional and contemporary life ways, promoting traditional arts and crafts, and helping with financial and political assistance.
