Sire: French Champlain

Beautiful Fleece with Lasting Fineness!

French Champlain

HuacayaMaleMedium Fawn
AOA# 8494132DOB: 6/7/200321 yrs
French Champlain joined the Whispering Willows Alpacas herd in 2010, and has been a great addition to our herdsire row. This is a beautiful male. His fleece is dense, crimpy, and baby soft with long staple length for a middle-aged male! Look at his fiber data at eight years of age! Incredible!! His fleece just shines in the sun and is the most gorgeous fawn color. He has excellent conformation and coverage down to his toes! He has proven himself a great breeder. Champlain has a fantastic pedigree with rare bloodlines, including the 1994 Alianza import Peruvian Andrajo, and the 1998 Accoyo import 6Peruvian Accoyo the Last Don. His brother is the well known Mr. Roosevelt of Crescent Moon Ranch. Champlain is a very easy going male and is not at all aggressive. He makes a perfect great uncle for young weanling males, as he is gentle with all the other animals. We have decided to sell Champlain and his good friend Anders Celcius together as a pair of pet/companion alpacas. These two boys have been friends since Anders was weaned from his mother; they have essentially been together since (except during a short winter stretch of inclement weather!). We want these boys to stay together, and since they are no longer part of our breeding program due to several up and coming young males in our herd, we are making them available as companion or fiber animals to a family looking for 4H animals or pets. Neither boy has been gelded at this point but could be for 4H purposes. Both have good personalities--Champlain is very good on the halter; Anders still needs some practice! Please contact us to inquire about this pair of boys.

Dam: Summer Halo

Half Accoyo; Mr. President Daughter!

Summer Halo

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 812828DOB: 6/30/199925 yrs
Summer Halo is a high quality half Accoyo daughter of PPPeruvian Mr. President. She is a large dam with great conformation and bone structure. Her fiber is dense and still has an amazing amount of crimp for an older girl. On top of her physical stature and fleece, Halo also possesses a very laid back and friendly personality. Halo is an experienced and excellent mother with now seven exceptional cria to her name. She gave birth in 2008 to a cute, half Accoyo, light brown little boy out of the the champion herdsire MFI Peruvian Lethal Weapon of Magical Farms in Ohio. This promising little boy, named J.R. after the physicist J.R. Oppenheimer, was sold before he was weaned. After a couple of off years, Halo was carrying twins in 2011 that did not reach full term, but gave birth on May 27, 2012 to a white little boy out of our Mesquite's Tropical Storm, and on October 21, 2013 to a cute little white girl out of French Champlain. It is easy to see Halo's outstanding bloodlines by looking at her offspring. A number of her cria have been ribbon winners, with some that are already passing on her quality genetics and characteristics. We have now retired Halo from our breeding program and she is being offered for sale as a companion female.

Description

Abella is a cute little white cria out of our great mom Summer Halo and our retired full Peruivan herdsire French Champlain. Abella has a rare pedigree including such hard to find lines as Peruvian Andrajo, 6Peruvian Accoyo the Last Don, Accoyo PPperuvian Mr. President, Peruvian Botin, and The Silversmith. Abella is named for Abella of Salerno, a mid-14th century Roman physician who taught general medicine at the Salerno school of medicine. She is believed to have lectured on standard medical practice, bile, and women's health and nature. She published two treatises: "On Black Bile" and "On the Nature of the Seed." In Salvatore De Renzi's nineteenth-century study of the Salerno School of Medicine, Abella is one of four women mentioned who both practiced medicine and wrote treatises. We have made the difficult decision to offer Abella for sale as a pet, fiber, or companion animal. She is good on the halter and very intelligent; with work she should be a wonderful 4H animal, or can simply be part of a pet or fiber herd. Alpacas are herd animals and cannot be kept alone without other members of their species, therefore we offer all of our pet animals for sale in sets of two or more--at BOGO pricing. Abella is being offered for sale with her friend Tatiana for a total of $150. Tatiana and Abella, both nice girls with good fiber, are being sold as a set of pets for a total of $150. (BOGO pricing.) These girls are younger animals--they are just under three and two years of age, respectively--but both do not fit our breeding program due to their light color and conformation. These girls will make a wonderful pair of pets for the family wishing to acquire its first alpacas, or would be ideal as companions in a larger female herd. Both have 4H and/or halter show experience on the halter, and with a bit of practice would make wonderful 4H animals.
