Like the tempest, Stormy flashes and resonates like lightning and thunder. His genetics and phenotype are strong like hurricane force winds. Stormy makes a stunning first impression—he is large and imposing, but with a quiet and sweet personality. Fineness, density, conformation, character, staple length, coverage, crimp--Stormy has them all and show judges have confirmed it!! His fleece is extremely bright, fine, dense, and crimpy. Stormy is following in the footsteps of his bay black half-brother, 10x Champion Rumm Runner. Stormy's sire, MFI Peruvian Black Mesquite, has had limited outside breedings, which makes getting access to these championship lines a challenge. Stormy's lighter color comes from his great grandsire PPPeruvian Augusto; the rest of Stormy's genetic background includes blacks and browns. His first crias are on the ground, in many colors, and all have inherited Stormy's fantastic fleece character! Stormy took 1st Place, Halter at the 2008 Ohio Buckeye Show and the 2008 MAPACA Jubilee!! Tim Lavan said that Stormy had the best brightness, most consistent fleece coverage, and had consistent crimp throughout. At his first show (Level V 2008 Indiana), Stormy earned second, with Peter Kennedy stating that his fleece was finer and had more character than the first place alpaca. At the 2008 Kentucky Classic, Stormy placed second in his class, to the eventual color champion, and Jill McLeod said, "both animals are very strong and these breeders will do well with these animals. They both are well-conformed, have density, fineness, staple length, character." Stormy's dam, Tropical Delight (1/4 Accoyo), also gave birth to 10X Color/Reserve Champion herdsire Rumm Runner, and at the 2008 Buckeye Show, Stormy and Runner delivered 1st in "Produce of Dam" for Tropical Delight! With Augusto, Donovan, Matador, and Black Mesquite in Stormy's background, he is carrying on the tradition of ribbons in the show ring, and we expect him to have a great breeding career.

Beautiful Dark Grey!

AOA# 31309820DOB: 11/29/200717 yrs
Petunia is a rare dark silver grey girl with a classic tuxedo pattern on her face and torso, but dark grey fleece in good coverage down her legs. Her fleece has great handle and staple length. She has an interesting lineage that includes the notable grey Peruvian import Peruvian Macusani. Petunia has very nice, square conformation and fleece coverage. Petunia is easy to handle, and gets along well with all the other girls in her group. Petunia gave birth in August 2012 to a beautiful blue ribbon-winning dark rose grey boy named Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit out of our fantastic male Mesquite's Tropical Storm. Gabe has the same crimp and softness Stormy is throwing on all of his cria. Gabe has exceptional fleece and conformation, and has found a place as one of our junior studs. Nice work Petunia! Petunia is presently bred to our true black boy Conan's Phenomenon for a spring 2015 cria. We are very impressed at what Petunia’s genetics have provided for us, and are very excited to see what else she can throw in the future!

Description

Gabe, a.k.a. “The Fire,” was named for the scientist who helped develop scales and instruments to measure temperature. Gabe ranks at the hot end of those scales! This is because Gabe is like the fire—his brilliant phenotype shines bright and hot, like a flame in darkness. His genetic potential sets him apart from the crowd like a fiery comet streaming across the night sky! His stunning fleece is what makes Gabe special and unique—he is an indefinite male, with black, brown, and white fibers in his blanket. In addition to his unusual coloring, Gabe’s fleece is very dense and fine and has stunning brightness! He has extra long staple length, as well as outstanding crimp and character. His sire Stormy has thrown his excellent conformation on Gabe as well! Gabe is named after the German physicist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, who was born in Danzig in 1686, but who spend most of his life in England and Holland, devoting himself to the study of physics and manufacturing meteorological instruments. He was the author of important improvements in the construction of thermometers, and he introduced the thermometric scale known by his name and still extensively used in Great Britain and the United States. Gabe took first place in his only show to date in fall 2013. The judge commented that Gabe is the perfect example of what the indefinite alpaca class is intended to showcase—she challenged people to stop by and look at his fleece because it was the perfect example of the fleece that farms should be seeking.
