This is our Lingering fineness breeding program at work! We are very excited with what we are producing with regards to LINGERING fineness. We want the fineness to hang there in the teens for 4-5 years.
If you have been around on our website, you have probably noticed that we do quite a bit of mixing Victor/Misty Maiden bloodlines with fineness and crimpy results.
Balbina is very fine as mentioned earlier, and considering her sire, Admiral, she will likely maintain her fineness for years. At first, we had a difficult time judging her density but as the weight/micron numbers concluded , she is very dense. She is very balanced, with excellent bone and coverage. Balbinas dam, Moraine, always makes big boned girls. When we describe her fleece characteristics, one picture is worth a 1000 words. Obviously she is very bright & shiny with medium frequency crimp and bundled quite nicely demonstrating a very organized fleece. I'm forecasting at least one of those purple banner thingys!.
Balbina has some excelent lineage: Accoyo Felix, Accoyo Camillo, Accoyo Victor, Accoyo Royal Fawn, Camelot, Misty Maiden. Balbina is half Accoyo and full Peruvian. She is also related to NWA JEAN and Jericho.
She sells with a free breeding to any of our champion males and we guarantee a Female!
Her sister,Sasha won a few blues last year in the beige classes and is maintaining a 17 micron at 2 years of age. She is the only reason that we consider selling Balbina.
We elected not to show Balbina this Spring as she was on the small side of normal(68lbs. at 8 months old)and her fleece was short because she was shorn in September. The judges seemed to be dinging smaller alpacas this year and not considering shearing dates. Balbina continues to grow normally and we plan on showing this fall
