Bell caught my eye many years ago, and I was glad to have the opportunity to add her to our herd. I appreciate what she has to offer, but as circumstanced force me to reduce the herd size, I realized that she would be more of an asset to a COLOR breeder.
Fleece: At 10, her fleece still has a bold, defined crimp. The crisp dirt line is evidence of the density. A bright and pretty fleece!
Sire: PPeruvian Guellermo, was imported at approximately 2yrs of age from Peru. He spent most of his life in Canada, where he sired a number of show winners. He has 290 offspring registered with ARI, including rose GREY and BLACK.
Dam: Bolivian Amber, as her name suggests, was imported from Boliva. While there is some question about the origin of the Bolivian imports, all agree that they were a highly selected group - well above average in conformation, type, coverage, with fleeces often distingquished for their fineness, soft handle, uniformity, and brightness. The Bolivian alpacas are continuing to make a positive contribution to the North American alpaca gene pool.
Cria at side: white male born 6/5/10 by Franklin's Liberty - one of the densest huacayas ever, as demonstrated by skin biopsy, evaluated by both Dr. Jim Watts of Australia, and Dr. Norm Evans. Included until weaned.
Service sire: Prophecy is proving his ability to sire crias with fleeces that exhibit desireable textile traits - that also have the 'showy' look that wins in the ring. Even in today's economy, Bell's in-utero cria could easily be worth more than her asking price!
Bell should be producing crias for the breeder who wants to 'tap into' the potential she inherited from her sire to produce color.<--description-->
