Benchmark's Peruvian Hercules
Alpaca, Huacaya, Herdsire (Male) | Medium Fawn
AOA #1366556 | DOB: 5/5/2005 (19 yrs)
Sire: Peruvian Lancaster
1366556<--ari-->Medium Fawn<--color-->6x Color Champion Peruvian Lancaster is simple awe-inspiring. Not only is Lancaster's fleece consistent but so is his 2002-04 show winnings. He won his 14th blue ribbon at MAPACA '05. And he won the coveted Fawn Male Color Championship at MAPACA '04. Judged by Mike Safley and selected out from over 124 medium and dark fawn males from the top farms around the country, Lancaster has been called, by more than one judge: "the total package". Mr. Safley said what's more impressive is that even though Lancaster was over 2 years old and the second oldest out of the sixteen first place males vying for Championship, he was the finest of them all-even the 7 month old standing reserve behind him. He was 8 months old when he won his first color championship at OABA then at just over a year he won his second color championship at the Kentucky Classic, 1st place at MAPACA and then went on to win Reserve Champion at the '03 Nationals. He exhibits all that we desire in a male and so much more.
He has a magnetic presence with a charming, inquisitive personality and is an absolute gentleman. His well-balanced, heavily boned frame is entirely covered with dense, carpet-like fleece. Whether you part Lancaster at the neck, hip, leg, or side you will not be disappointed. His lustrous fleece is not only uniform in micron but very consistent in both character and style.
He is destined to become a legend in the alpaca industry, and so his progeny.

Dam: Camilla's AccoyAnza Athena
1366556<--ari-->Light Fawn<--color-->Athena is the daughter of Peruvian Camilla! Camilla is a Peruvian Import from the Alianza Herd. You can take a look at Camilla and read about her awards on her own page. Athena's brother is Peruvian Zephyrus. Zephyrus has taken the blue ribbon or Champion Ribbon in every show he has entered including the National AOBA show. Athena offers these great genetics as well. Her conformation is solid, she sits squarely on her frame, she has buttery soft fiber with bundles throughout. Her crimp is consistent and uniform.
Athena, like a true Goddess, not only produced 12 pounds of fleece, she did it while growing a 21 pound cria. Yes, that is right, we took 12 pounds of fleece off of this female and four days later, she delivered a 21 pound cria. She can do it all.
If you add the weight of her cria, the placenta and all the fiber we clipped off of her, she lost about 40 pounds in a matter of days! It is pretty amazing that this little girl could produce that amount of fleece while nurturing her little boy. She is a stellar producer in every way.
Athena was bred to Midnight Rider in 2006 for her 2007 cria. That was a match like no other. It produced Benchmark's Peruvian Sweet Alabama - you can see Alabama on her own page. Alabama is undefeated in the show ring and is the most spectacular Alpaca I have ever seen. Of course, we repeated the breeding in hopes of another "Bama" in 2009.
Athena is not for sale at this time.<--description-->

It was not surprising that these two produced such a superb cria, the surprise was the degree of excellence this little guy started off with.
Excellent top know & coverage on this guy. Very balanced showing strong conformation. Show presence! He has a medium frequency crimp with medium density.
Update: Hercules first two cria are on the ground - both exhibiting excellent crimp. Both are females - Rose Margarita is beautiful Light Brown & Bayou Babe is medium fawn. More offspring on the ground - For 2010 it was 6 Females, 2 Males. Also, bred to black twice, he produced TB
