We are thrilled with Avatar's newest creations - including Delphi's Avella - The 2017 National grey female halter Champion at just over 6 months of age. And congratulations to Avella's new owners, Debbie and Dale Hoerl; Alpacas of Moose Creek Ranch! Many more Avatar crias will be arriving in 2018. Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber. Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece: Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10. His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals. Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits. Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey. She has a beautiful typey head, good bone and coverage - crimpy, dense soft fiber, and is an absolute doll. Gilda produced a gorgeous fine, silver girl, Nisha, in 2005 from her breeding with Patagonia's El Padre. Nisha is one of a very few silver gray offspring produced by El Padre. She was bred to our black herd sire Dino, for a beautiful black boy in the fall of '06, Fino Noir, a herd sire for Light House Alpacas. Gilda's daughter Lilac was awarded a Reserve Championship at MOPACA, then a Blue at the intensely competitive Futurity, and finally a Blue at the Level 5 GWAS. Three for Three - we are so pround of her. Gilda then delivered a WOW dark maroon Avatar son in July - Dense - crimpy and Fine Fine Fine - plus the attitude and the look everyone wants. Another star! He was awarded Reserve Champion at his first show - TxOLAN 2010. Just 7 months old and Dark Brown - beating the older light males. SOLD - Congratulations to Shiloh Ranch Alpacas. Life is about gambles and I just couldn't resist this one. Take a look at this little rose grey Avatar son and he is only 2 months old!! If he follows in his Full sister's footsteps, I will be one lucky owner! Of course, he is too young to come here now, but will arrive just in time for the Spring 2012 Show Season - Watch for updates! Artax is conformationally perfect with wonderful presence. Very soft fleece with some nice character present at 2 months of age, and very good density. His full sister Lilac won 3 blue ribbons - every time she stepped in the ring she walked out with Blue. And one of those classes was a class of 10 at the Futurity. His full brother Kallari was awarded Reserve Champion as a dark brown Juvenile at TxOLAN, in his first show. Reluctantly, I put this fine young man on my sales list. It will be hard to find another Rose Grey Avatar son being offered at this price. This fella needs to be on a farm where he will get lots of work and unfortunately, due to having to drastically downsize, he is not being utilized like he should be. He is ready to breed!

Awards

[2nd]Second Place, 2012 Buckeye Alpaca Show, Level 4, Columbus, Ohio. Showing as the youngest in his Class of 6, still in his cria-tips, Artas took a 2nd place under Judge Wade Gease. He commented about his solid, straight lines and a tightness in his fleece he didn't expect when he looked underneath. Good consistency of fleece.
