El Campeon (Champ) is retired and living on lush green pastures. He is listed here for reference only. El Campeon's offspring are proving to be well-conformed, crimpy, and uniform. He has improved upon the dam in uniformity, handle, coverage, crimp amplitude, and even personality. He is producing incredible fineness as low as 14 microns! One breeder said of their Champ cria, "he is a beautiful male with the best fleece on our farm - ultra fine, silky, and very crimpy!" El Campeon (Champ) has a luscious medium to dark fawn AWARD-WINNING FLEECE that you can't keep your hands off and a head & coverage you can't keep your eyes off. The first thing you notice about Champ besides his gentle yet confident demeanor is his FULL COVERAGE from head to toe. At further inspection, his SOFT HANDLE, DENSITY, AND UNIFORM CRIMP abound throughout his fleece. And the judges agree. Among Champ's many fleece awards includes a FIRST PLACE at the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show in 2008; judge's comments were that he was "the Clear Winner with very much the higher score, very good staple length, definition and character...good uniformity overall, and a very heavy cutting fleece." In 2007, we sheared an amazing 10 pounds of fiber from Champ, which he topped with 13 POUNDS in 2008. He is also well conformed with an excellent bite, and settled his first female on our ranch at just a month after turning 2 years old. Champ's dam, Tasha Yar, has maintained an extremely fine fleece - 20.7 microns at 10 years of age! She continues to produce award winning crias for us and is an excellent mother. Champ's sire, NWA/Line Fallstaff, has many awards, winning Reserve Color Champion at GWAS Fleece Show 2005 at age 5! Both dam and sire are maintaining superior fiber quality as they age, and Champ is following right in their footsteps. Champ's bloodlines include Don Julio, along with grandsires El Moustachio and PPeruvian Felix.

Sweet Pines Springs

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 30457171DOB: 9/17/200519 yrs
Springs was our best white producer. She has consistently produced well-conformed, extremely fine white offspring who have ribboned in both halter and fleece shows. She is now being offered as a retired mama. Springs has proven to throw offspring with phenomenal fiber every time. Lovely brightness, fantastic density, luscious soft handle, and consistent bold, attractive crimp throughout the long staple length. Her sire, Spanish Peaks Alpha Centauri is an elite result of Snowmass breedings. He throws champion offspring with long staple length, incredible luster, density, and fineness even when he produces color. Springs' first cria, Avalanche, has long, bright, crimpy, incredibly soft, blue ribbon winning fiber just like his dam. He was literally up and running in 12 minutes after birth. We were thrilled with this very healthy boy and bred her back to El Campeon twice, which resulted in Trooper, another vibrant white boy with fantastic fleece, and Lumina, an extremely dense, soft, daughter with excellent bone substance. Springs now (July 2016) has a healthy female cria out of San Simeon, son of Rico Suave, a line known for extreme fineness (<14 microns).

Description

Lumina has a gorgeous fleece - EXTREMELY DENSE and CRIMPY with a nice SOFT handle. Her conformation is strong and straight with excellent bone substance. This girl will make a wonderful producer of offspring and fleece volume. Lumina's dam is Sweet Pines Springs, a winner of a first place ribbon for the Fiber Odyssey spin-off. She has consistently produced offspring with absolutely wonderful fleeces and if we weren't moving our herd in a more colorful direction, we would definitely be keeping both Lumina and her dam. Lumina's sire is El Campeon, also a winner of first & second place ribbons for his fleece. El Campeon's grandsires are the famous Peruvian Felix and PPeruvian El Moustachio. He has produced offspring with fleece as fine as 14 microns and consistently improves on crimp and uniformity. One breeder commented that their El Campeon son has the best fleece on their farm. Lumina has 2 full siblings who are winning awards and continue to produce phenomenal fleeces. Lumina is bred to multi-champion herdsire, Alpaca Adventures' Milano. Talk about density and crimp!
