Spanish Peaks Banderas

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Rose Grey
AOA# 20000394DOB: 6/18/200519 yrs
Banderas is retired as a breeder. His info is here for reference. His last cria was a very dense and uniformly fine brown handsome little male - Spyker. Spyker is winning awards with his wonderful fleece! He is currently being offered as a junior herdsire and will likely be ready to breed starting 2024. Banderas is an EPD Top 1%er! His stats are excellent overall, but his EPD in staple length soars. Did you read Ian Watt's article in Alpacas Magazine? YES, length matters! To that end, we are still using this oldie but goodie to cover our females with shorter staple length. His latest cria was born in July 2021. BANDERAS IS A MULTI-CHAMPION THROWING ULTRA FINE CHAMPION OFFSPRING IN A VARIETY OF COLORS. And now we are seeing grand-offspring that are absolutely phenomenal. This has been especially exciting. Banderas offspring HIGHLIGHTS *Banderas daughter, AHarmony's Delta Dawn - RES CHAMPION & 2nd at IAO Cottage Fleece Show 2014 *Banderas daughter, Sweet Pines Dulce de Leche - RES CHAMPION & 2nd at the IAO Cottage Fleece Show 2013 *Banderas son, Banderas' Dasher - COLOR CHAMPION & 1st place at Fiber Fusion 2012 (15/15 for Brightness!) *Banderas son, Sweet Pines Torino - 5x CHAMPION! Torino is a National Fleece Color Champion and has won 2 halter Reserve Championships (Showcase & IAO). Torino's fleece also received Reserve Champion (and 1st place) at the AFCNA Continental Fleece Show (level 4). Judge Wade Gease commented, "Exceptional fineness with hand, crimp, and density. What more could you ask for?" *Banderas has blown us away with the fineness he is throwing. Here is a sample of histograms: AHarmony's Torreya (DRG): AFD 15.4, SD 4.3, CV 27.7, >30 1.1% Sweet Pines Torino (LB): AFD 15.7, SD 2.9, CV 18.4, >30 0.5% AHarmony's Delta Dawn: AFD 16.1, SD 4.0, CV 25.0, >30 0.8% Sweet Pines Lotus (MF): AFD 16.6, SD 3.6, CV 22.0, >30 0.6% Banderas' Dasher (LB): AFD 16.7, SD 3.6, CV 21.8, >30 0.6% While the average microns are impressive, we are so excited about the uniformity: SDs (2.9!) and >30s (0.5%!). This is what makes these fleeces so exceptionally soft. Banderas' HIGHLIGHTS: *unique, gorgeous, rich COLOR *bright, soft, UNIFORM fleece *fantastic character and CRIMP *multiple COLOR CHAMPION *elite GENETICS: dam & sire from Snowmass Breeding Program (VICTOR & PLURO) *PROVEN to throw his excellent conformation & fleece characteristics, along with modern rose grey, black, and brown Banderas' superabundant fleece (7# blanket in 2009) is a dark rosey brown roan. The BEAUTIFUL CRIMP, REMARKABLE LENGTH, BRIGHTNESS, & SILKY SOFTNESS are truly ADVANCED. In 2006 he won 2 COLOR CHAMPIONSHIPS. At GWAS, judge Mike Safley was VERY impressed with his superior fleece qualities and placed him as COLOR CHAMPION right away, noting that it was rare for the darkest animal in a class to win!

Sweet Pines Catalina

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 30457157DOB: 7/19/200618 yrs
Catalina has produced phenomenal offspring, including National Brown Color Champion, Sweet Pines Torino! Catalina's fleece is an exquisite medium brown with a SOFT handle and tight, consistent crimp. She has straight conformation and a perfect bite. She is one of those friendly, confident alpacas that catches your attention right away. And then when you start looking at her pedigree, you know you can't go wrong...especially if you are breeding for superior QUALITY COLOR. Catalina is out of ELDORADO, a very studly charcoal grey. ElDorado is out of the amazing 4Peruvian LEGACY along with a plethora of black and grey on his dam's side. Catalina's dam is our very own champion Makella. And the genetics on her side are just as impressive - Peruvian Accolade, Peruvian Augusto, Peruvian El Moustachio, & Peruvian Don Julio. Catalina's first cria, Azera, is spectacular. She won our hearts along with two well-earned ribbons (2nd at AFCNA Fleece Show & 3rd at Alpaca Affaire composite). Her dark chocolate brown fleece is soft & crimpy with excellent character. But Catalina's claim to fame is her son, Sweet Pines Torino, a NATIONAL COLOR CHAMPION for his fleece at AOBA Nationals 2011. He has also earned 3 RESERVE CHAMPIONS in both halter and fleece. His 1st histogram stats are amazing: AFD 15.7, SD 2.9, CV 18.4, %>30 0.5. A half price breeding is available to any of our unrelated studs (e.g. Snowmass XXXtreme Flare) or those of Alpaca Harmony, LLC (e.g. Spanish Peaks Banderas (Torino's sire) OR champion black herdsire Crescent Moon's Daytona). We will provide 4 months free board upon purchase if necessary. Transport and purchase exam are the responsibility of the buyer. Thank you for considering Catalina, a wonderful mother producing exceptional offspring.

Crescent Moon's Daytona

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 32670752DOB: 6/16/201212 yrs
We are sad to announce that Daytona passed away this past winter (2023) of unknown causes. His information will continue to be displayed for reference as he has many offspring, including more to come this summer. Daytona's cria have proven just how capable Daytona is at producing black with such a variety of dam colors. We are thrilled with his offspring. They are dense, silky, crimpy, extremely well put together conformationally, and have such lovely presence. In 2016, Daytona produced 5 black, 1 dark grey, and 1 brown cria. Dams ranged in color from black to beige, but most were fawn and brown. Daytona exceeded our expectations. Histograms are showing that Daytona offspring are following in his footsteps - first year results as fine as 15, but averaging 17.5 microns. Excellent uniformity and comfort factor as well with vast improvements in density. The incredibly handsome Crescent Moon's Daytona joined our herd in north central Idaho in 2015. His fiber stats prove that he is holding his uniformity, fineness, and density with a fleece weight of over 5 lbs for his blanket, and 10 lbs overall. He also exhibits wonderful brightness as commented on by the judges. It is inspiring to see these characteristics in true black along with undeniably outstanding conformation. Daytona has acquired an impressive show record: 1st at The Futurity, Color Champion at GWAS, and much more. Daytona excels in many aspects, but what jumps out is his uniformity. When you look at his fleece, you notice (besides his impressive density, brightness, and fineness) that something is missing - guard hair. Daytona's fleece is like glass - absolutely uniform well across the blanket in color (no spots!), silky fineness, crimp, length, density, and lack of guard hair...all the way down the belly! You can see that uniformity in his histograms too with low standard deviation and %>30, even on his adult fleeces. Put that on top of a well-balanced frame and 'look-at-me' presence, and oh boy. Daytona is a product of 3 esteemed breeding programs coming together - Flying Dutchman Alpacas on his sire's side (sire: Skywalker by Poseidon of FDA), Fir Cove Alpacas on his dam's (dam: Fir Cove Bonita), and Crescent Moon bringing it all together with their stamp of approval. Take a look at the plethora of Accoyo bloodlines - PCA Accoyo El Nino, Caligula's Accoyo Poseidon - and well-known color producers such as PPeruvian Victor. Examples of Daytona offspring available for sale now: 1 black proven herdsire - National Champion, AHarmony's Nocino 1 beautiful brown extremely fine and dense female - Sweet Pines' Manzanita 1 very dense maiden (bred) true black female - Sweet Pines Regal

Description

Sweet Pines Desiré is a full sister to National Champion, Sweet Pines Torino and 3/4 sister to Champion, Banderas' Dasher. Thus, it's no surprise that Desiré has grown into a high quality, well balanced, conformationally correct, and very sweet female. Her fleece is soft with outstanding staple length and a beautiful rich mahogany color. She is also a great mother. Genetics: Desiré's dam is out of HVLA Legacy's Eldorado, a charcoal grey Accoyo 4Peruvian Legacy son. Other elite Peruvian genetics on her dam's side include Accoyo Augusto and PPeruvian El Moustachio. Desiré's sire is the multi-champion Spanish Peaks Banderas, a dark rosy roan, producing phenomenal award-winning offspring with extreme fineness (15 microns!) in a variety of colors, including rose grey and black. He is also an EPD 1%er for length! His Snowmass breeding program lines include Peruvian Victor and Peruvian Pluro. Desiré's full brother, Sweet Pines Torino has won CHAMPIONSHIPS from large competitive shows such as GWAS and NATIONALS. One judge said of his fleece, "What more could you ask for?" Desire's 2019 cria, a cinnamon brown boy, is sired by multi-champion black Crescent Moon's Daytona. Desire's little guy has a really lovely fleece with wonderful staple length and a sweet personality.
