NorthCoast Silver Sovereign has been our best grey alpaca produced to date. He is the whole package of gorgeous head, long/tall/elegant body; uniform silver grey coloration; fleece with long staple and high frequency, uniform crimp; excellent fineness (19.8 micron at 2.25 years of age), and a very engaging personality to boot. His pedigree is interesting as it contains well known grey studs Quicksilver, Shaquille and Silvio; Accoyo studs Leon, El Rey and King; and an incredibly fleeced Chilean female named "Diamonds are Forever" who was a Futurity multiple champion. It takes these kind of genetics to produce an impact herd sire and that is what we believe NorthCoast Silver Sovereign to be. His cria have hit the show ring and have made his sire proud including color champions. Nearly all of his offspring have been either silver grey or true black including out of light fawns from which he has produced both true back (out of a full Accoyo dam) and silver grey out of a light fawn dams. The cria fleeces are also quite uniform and very fine.

Description

Piper is a compact, solid mahogany brown male with excellent fleece characteristics and correct conformation. His dam, Snowmass Casanova's Pearl, was sired by Incan Magic (not Casanova!) and includes Bueno, Snowmass Silver Pearl and Snowmass Rose Pearl in her pedigree. She is a small female who has produced black, brown and rose grey offspring to date. She is very dense with a nice handling fleece and a sweet personality. Piper's sire is NorthCoast Silver Sovereign, a males we were thrilled to get into productions in 2012 and our top grey male. Silver has a terrific pedigree including Shaquille, Silvio, NWA LTD Sunshine, General Schwarzkopf, Accoyo Leon, Cappuccino, Quincy, Peruvian King to name a few. Silver is long/tall/elegant with a long staple length of 18 micron silver grey fleece, a typey head with dense topknot and perfect conformation. Piper is very soft and dense with uniform color over his entire body with high frequency crimp and perfect conformation. He is very pleasing to look at and an eye catcher among the cria.
