2013 Update: HIS CRIA CONTINUE TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS! A male offspring has won three Judge's Choice Awards this spring in three shows (including Level V!) Look at his offspring as you go thru the spring show circuits...including AOBA Nationals and Futurity! His grey offspring are spectacular enough for the Blue Ribbon at the prestigious AOBA Nationals and Futurity shows and have won multiple Color Champions again! Two grey offspring took BOTH COLOR AND RESERVE COLOR CHAMPION GREY FEMALES in a recent show! No other full Accoyos can boast this rare quality! Progeny Championships in white, fawn, brown, and greys! Sired by the now deceased El Nino (one of Accoyo Caligula's best offspring. El Nino was the 2004 AOBA Get of Sire, and was the 2005 Light Futurity Herdsire of the Year!). With El Nino's recent passing, Michelangelo has become one of his most prepotent progeny! To lose such a legendary macho in his prime makes the genetics of his top offspring even more critical to a well thought out serious breeding program. Michelangelo has that extremely dense fine high amplitude crimp, and an incredibly even "peach colored" fawn fleece. In late 2005 Dr. Norm Evans did a skin biopsy of this spectacular male, and he had a follicle density of an amazing 115 follicles/mm! (Post-calibration results were adjusted to 107 follicles/mm) His S/P ratio was an astounding 13.28/1! These are still unheard of statistics, and he PASSES THEM ON! Michelangelo will split time between Lakada Farm and Cameo Rose Alpacas, our new co-owner!

Description

Accoyo Korona is making a name for himself! He is an outstanding son of El Nino's Accoyo Michelangelo but the key here may be the maternal line, Accoyo Cuenca. Cuenca has produced three offspring for our farm and each has been from a different stud... the commonality in the fleeces, heads and coverage follow her throughout the three who are nearly identical. Cuenca herself is an old import but she has proven invaluable to our breeding program. Korona has been entered into his first three shows during 2013. He took a second placing at the Spring Alpaca Show in Huron, Ohio (to our Barnabus son Quentin). In his second show, the National Champions' Show, Korona placed first and went on to win white male color champion at the age of 14 months. Entered in the walking fleece competition Korona's fleece placed second among all fleeces entered in the entire show (to our male Icarus who won "best fleece in show"). Korona followed this at the OABA AlpacaFest, a larger show with top competition and large classes. Placing first in yearling male and then winning white male color champion in consecutive shows. Judges have commented on Korona for his head which is exceptionally covered with tight V at the eyes conforming to the ideal type described by Don Julio Barreda. Judges also commented on his exceptional density, fineness and uniformity. Korona will be offered for limited outside breedings when he proves himself ready which we expect will happen during 2014. Please inquire if you are interested in securing one of his early breedings.
