Saggio is a full Bolivian male out of Silas of Bolivia, who is now gone. Saggio's fleece is extremely dense and crimpy. It has lost a little staple length wih age, but that's common with a male being used all the time. His offspring have shown the same fiber with fineness to boot. He has a very gentle disposition and has also passed this on to his cria. There aren't too many full Bolivians left out there, so at $500 stud fee, you can't go wrong. Saggio is up for sale because I am very limited on females for him since he is related to many of them. He has many offspring out there, many of them female and many of them ribboned in shows. I have three of his girls here at this time so you can see the results of his breeding or you can check out the ARI to see some of the results. I don't show a lot so I don't have a lot of ribbons for him, but I feel Saggio would make anyone an excellent herdsire for many years to come. I would really like him to go to a farm that will use him for breeding, so make me an offer. Saggio will be going to the auction in April if he doesn't find a home. I hate to see that happen. Make me an offer of possibly a trade. Saggio will be going to Shinglehouse to Hyde-Away Alpaca Farm. Thanks Don and Pat.

Description

Poppy is a great true black girl out of Sierra and Saggio. She has her mom's conformation and her dad's fleece. She is showing really nice crimpy, fine fleece. I will have her fiber tested at shearing time. She will also be shown this summer along with her fleece. During shearing, we discovered that her brisket, between her front legs, was off center a little. The shearer said it "could" be genetic, but would probably not affect her offspring. I asked a geneticist about it and he wasn't familiar with this defect. Becasue of this, her price is lowered to $500. The only reason she is for sale is to make room for more cria. Both parents are blue ribbon winners and hopefully Poppy will follow in their foot steps. (Her micron was 21 with only 3.7% of fibers over 30) Makes for very comfortable products.
