As we mentioned in a recent blog post, we're a growing farm which means it's time to let some of our best go to ensure we have enough room for the next batch of babies. Anthem is one that is hard to offer for sale. She really is a complete package with an enormous amount of potential as a strong breeding female. Take a look: Lineage- We've done this cross a few times, and continue to be impressed. That is crossing the lines of Running Late (Titan) with Royal Rose (Hemingway). The strengths of these genetic lines match up very well, and Anthem did not disappoint. Typical Running Late fineness and eye-grabbing facial features, while adding the density and character of her dam's genetic package. Lady Liberty (dam) has given us nothing but superior breeding stock and ribbon winning quality. Fiber- Anthem has an extremely fine fleece with high frequency/low amplitude crimp and microbundling. She has a good staple length, excellent density and carries good coverage from head to toe. She was not ready to breed this past fall (2013) and due to our cold winters we elected to defer breeding her until spring 2014. So many options for this little beauty; at this point we are leaning towards our junior herdsire Accoyo America Chinook or quite possibly Tupac......or should we go with Rocky?? The possibilities are boggling and we can't wait to see her first cria!
