UNIFORMITY! This girl is the epitome of uniformity. She has fineness, great density from head to tail, brightness, crimp, very little guard hair - and all of it is uniform! Even Judge Sharon Loner commented on her uniformity at the Northwest Alpaca Showcase in 2008, placing her first in her class. Baja also has lovely conformation, with that 'model' style just like her dam. Victor's Julius was a terrific match for Makella. Both are championship award winners. And together they bring big name Peruvian genetics: Victor and Accolade are Baja's grandsires, with greatgrandsires Cisco Kid, Augusto, and El Moustachio. Baja is now retired as a breeder but produced many phenomenal offspring in her lifetime. Her first is a gorgeous classic rose grey girl, Teva, out of the grey champion Stratus Cloud. She's beautiful - crimpy, dense, extremely soft. The following year Baja surprised us with a bright white, extremely fine, uniform, and tightly crimped male, Rocky. Rocky is out of the top award winning rose grey, Premier's Rubio, and now has his own progeny on the ground. For 2011, Baja produced white again, this time out of MSA Peruvian Tequila Sunrise (champion beige with elite bloodlines). This boy's fleece feels like down feathers. It's incredible - his first fleece is at 14 microns AFD, he has wonderful crimp style, and he's dense! ET also now has progeny on the ground! Next came a brown female, Italia, out of Alpaca Adventures' Milano. Italia has that silky, bright, incredibly uniform fleece that you want to keep touching. Italia will have her own cria in 2017. Baja proved to be a wonderful mom, and a fantastic producer. We could put her with any color and love the result. In fact, the result is so dependable, that even a male is welcome from Baja as chances are high that he will be stud worthy!

Description

Rocky is a retired stud. He did a wonderful job for us and is still a respected leader in his little herd of sires. Rocky is a CHAMPION exhibiting ULTRA FINENESS, FANTASTIC BRIGHTNESS, ABUNDANT DENSITY, GORGEOUS CRIMP, UNIFORMITY...BALANCED, ATTRACTIVE, CORRECT CONFORMATION...AND A TRULY PLEASING PERSONALITY. Rocky is out of two top award-winning parents with elite Peruvian bloodlines including VICTOR, BUENO, DON JULIO, EL MOUSTACHIO, and AUGUSTO. His fleece is not just ultrafine, it's also uniform with beautiful crimp alignment, giving it such an incredible handle...exactly what we are all breeding for! And no wonder, given his dam is holding her fineness of 21 microns at 4 yrs old and his blue ribbon sire produced top award-winning offspring. Rocky won LIGHT COLOR CHAMPION at the Fiber Fusion Alpaca Fleece Show 2012 judged under international rules by Ruth Elvestad, who gave him high scores in uniformity on all accounts. Rocky has also placed well at the Northwest Alpaca Showcase in halter. In 2013 he placed 1st as a 2-yr-old, the judge having wonderful things to say about him, complimenting him on every possible trait, including personality. In 2012, he was in a very competitive class of 14 white yearlings and placed 5th. Sires of the males in his class were among the most elite white producers and still Rocky (out of a grey sire!) caught the judge's attention. Rocky has a lot of color in his pedigree and would be great for someone looking to add white quality in a color herd. So far he is throwing his density, crimp, and fineness to really beautiful offspring - 100% females.
