4th Generation Color Champion
Chablis of PVA
SuriBred (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 31429047DOB: 7/14/200915 yrs
Break out the bubbly! That’s what we did when this pale fawn beauty was born at Park View Alpacas. And again when she started racking up those show ring accolades. It’s Chablis of PVA! And we’ve decided to make her available to you here at the Prestige Auction, and now it’s your turn to break out the bubbly.
And why wouldn’t you? This is poke-your-eyes-out shining luster! Fine fleece and well-defined locks. A lovely head. This is a 4th Generation Supreme Champion (2010 IAO). A 3rd Generation Best Head winner (2011 IAO). And, oh yeah, 1st and Reserve Champion 2010 GWAS. 3rd at 2010 CABA and AOBA. 1st at 2011 IAO. 3rd at 2011 Futurity and AOBA. You’re going to be popping a lot of corks with Chablis of PVA.
Chablis’ dam, Syrah of PVA, gave us a lot to celebrate when she was showing. Syrah walked off with the 2006 IAO Color Championship, Best Head, and Supreme Championship for female suris, the same year that her half-brother Diamonte of PVA did exactly the same at the same show for male suris. Syrah is out of Uber’s Cottonwood Jenny and by Kobe of PVA. She had produced a total of 4 big guns for Park View Alpacas. There was The Phantom (2007) by Diamonte: he took 2nds at both the 2009 Futurity and at CABA. Shiraz of PVA (2008) by Koyoto of PVA took 2nd and Reserve at the 2010 AWE, and a 1st and a Championship at IAO the same year. Chablis, of course, in 2009, by MacGyver’s Balboa. And Chardonnay of PVA (2010) by Balboa, took a 1st and Best Head at the 2011 IAO, and 1sts at Futurity, GWAS, and AOBA as well. Those are serious occasions for celebration!
Chablis’ sire, MacGyver’s Balboa, won 16 AOBA certified halter championships and 21 blue ribbons during his own show career. He is a world record holder for the most halter class color championships in history. In 2008 he received a color championship at the AOBA National Fleece show, and also got the Judges’ Choice and Best Lock awards, chosen from among all the color groups. Most recently, in 2011, Balboa was named the Dark Herd Sire of the Year, and Reserve Light Herd Sire of the Year! No doubt, in part, to the triumphs of Chablis and Chardonnay, and their other paternal half-siblings like Artemesia, Chanterelle, and The Grey Knight.
Chablis comes to you bred to Chakotah’s Wyuna, unbeaten in his show ring career. Interestingly, Chablis was the 2010 IAO Supreme Champion female suri, and Wyuna was the 2011 IAO Supreme Champion male suri. It should be a match made in heaven, and another reason to party when you add Chablis of PVA to your suri breeding program.
On June 8th of 2012 Chablis gave birth to the first Wyuna cria to ever see the light of day. He is upright and well formed, with already well defined locks and more than a hint of luster. We will definitely be repeating this cross!
