Description

Black Velvet is a pretty yearling female. She is very friendly and good tempered, and gives us every indication that she will turn out to be sturdy and big boned like her dam, Black Chips' Delight, and lustrously elegant like her sire, the one and only Kobe of PVA. Kobe of PVA has sired no fewer than 11 Color and Reserve Color Champions in his breeding career. These include Dynamite of PVA (2012 IAO Color Champion and 2011 CABA Classic Reserve Color Champion); Syrah of PVA (2006 IAO Color Champion, Supreme Champion and Best Head); and the one and only Diamonte of PVA (2004 and 2005 AOBA National Color Champion to name but a few accolades). Black Chips' Delight is one of our foundation females, a reliable producer who always produces black or black/white cria, good milk, easy birthing, good temper--everything you could ask for in a foundation female. Black Velvet was shown in 2012. She scored two seconds and a fourth, a respectable achievement. In 2013, she began the show season with a bang. She took a 1st place and then the Suri Black Female Color Championship at the IAO in Sacramento. At the CABA Classic later that spring, she scored another Color Championship! Black Velvet will be ready to breed in the summer of 2013. We will be offering her at the 2013 Prestige Auction in September.
