SuriHerdsire (Male)Bay Black
AOA# 1049121DOB: 7/31/200519 yrs
There are few alpaca herd sires in the same league as MacGyver’s Balboa. He is co-owned by Park View All American Alpacas in Oregon and Victoria Lane Alpacas in Ohio. During the course of his show career Balboa racked up 16 Halter Championships-- 13 Color Championships and 3 Reserve Championships. And his fleece won a few awards too. At the MAPACA 2008 Fleece competition, Balboa’s fleece was awarded a First Place and Best Suri Locks. Then at the 2008 AOBA National Fleece Show, Balboa was awarded First Place and Reserve Color Championship. His fleece also received a Special Award at Nationals for Best Suri Locks. Balboa’s offspring have accrued more than 25 championships among them to date! Though he is true black, Balboa specializes in both light and dark colored offspring, and both do equally well in the show ring. Thus it is at the 2011 Futurity, he was named both Dark Herd Sire of the Year and Reserve Light Herd Sire of the Year. Included on the light side of the family, from Park View Alpacas, are: Lucieno of PVA, 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; the divine Imperial Princess of PVA, 2011 IAO Supreme Color Champion, 2011 CABA Color Champion, and 2011 Futurity Res Color Champion; Balboa’s Fanfare of PVA, the 2011 IAO Color Champion; Chablis of PVA: 2010 GWAS Res. Color Champion, and 2011 IAO Best Head; and blue-ribbon-winning and future color champion Chardonnay of PVA: 1st 2011 AOBA National Show, 1st 2011 Futurity, 1st 2011 GWAS, and 2011 IAO Best Head. But wait, Balboa makes dark Color Champions as well! These include, again from Park View Alpacas: Bejeweled of PVA, 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; Nataliah of PVA, half-sister of PVA Mahogany Prince and 2011 AOBA National Show Color Champion; Chanterelle of PVA, 2011 Futurity Color Champion and 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; Fawnessa of PVA, 2011 IAO Color Champion; and the immortal, memorable Testaverde of PVA: 2011 Color Champion at the IAO, the CABA Classic, the AOBA National Show, and 2010 Futurity Color Champion. Balboa has also sired some champions for Victoria Lane Alpacas. His first offspring to hit the ground, Balboa’s Adrienne, won 3 Reserve Championships during her show career. Then Adrienne’s full sister, Balboa’s Lexi, came along and also took 3 Reserve Championships—FABA 2011, Best of US 2011, and CABO 2011. In addition to these accomplishments, Balboa is just plain an all-around great guy. He’s friendly and intelligent, easy to handle, comes when he’s called, doesn’t cause problems with other males, and treats his ladies with dignity. UPDATE: NEW CO-OWNERS M&M ALPACAS OF NORTH CAROLINA

Third Generation Color Champion

TARYN ROSE OF PVA

SuriBred (Female)True Black
AOA# 30011201DOB: 8/18/200519 yrs
Taryn Rose has a pretty good track record here at Park View Alpacas. She's true black. Her sire, the second generation Color Champion Kobe of PVA, is true black. Her dam, Serena of PVA, is true black. She has given us 5 crias to date by MacGyver's Balboa (bay black)--every one of them true black. We figure we're on to a pretty good thing here. Through her sire, Taryn Rose is sister to a galaxy of black Color Champions, including Lockstar of PVA, the 2008 AWE Color Champion; Luxor of PVA, the 2006 AWE Color Champion and Reserve Color Champion at the 2006 IAO; and Dynamite of PVA, the 2012 IAO Color Champion and 2011 CABA Classic Reserve Color Champion. Taryn Rose herself has a modest but successful show record. She took a second place, and then a Reserve Championship, at the 2006 Alpaca Western Extravaganza. Her main function for us here at PVA has been as a production female, a role which she has faithfully and predictably fulfilled. She is currently expecting a 2013 cria by MacGyver's Balboa, winner of 16 color championships in his own show career, and named 2011 Dark Herdsire of the Year and Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year thanks to the exploits of his offspring. Taryn Rose is a good mother--she produces healthy crias and good milk. Her crias have all been friendly and easy to work with. Taryn Rose herself is somewhat of a free spirit--she is clever like her dam and spirited like her sire. But with that kind of production record--black every time!--we can indulge in an imperial attitude! Taryn Rose has been rebred to MacGyver's Balboa for a November 2013 cria.

Description

Balboa's Tea Rose is a beautiful bay black girl, tall and solid of bone, with curly black fleece covered her face and her legs, in addition to the gossamer fine soft black locks covering the rest of her body. Her carriage is upright and proud, yet her demeanor is gentle. She has a full little sister who looks exactly like her, from the sparkle in her eye to the softness of her fleece. We showed Tea Rose at the 2012 AOBA Nationals, where she took 4th place in a class of 12! Tea Rose's dam is Taryn Rose of PVA. Taryn Rose is true black, and every cria she has produced by MacGyver's Balboa has been in almost exactly the same image as Tea Rose--black, upright, good fleece coverage, spunky-sweet. Taryn Rose is the daughter of Kobe of PVA, the fabled son of PVA Mahogany Prince who was the 2003 IAO Supreme Color Champion, in addition to his considerably many other championships and accomplishments. Taryn Rose herself was Reserve Color Champion at the 2006 AWE. Tea Rose's sire is MacGyver's Balboa, the 2011 Dark Herdsire of the Year and Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year. That accolade was accorded to him due to the accomplishments of his numerous championship winning offspring. He himself was a color champion 15 times in 2006 and 2007, including at AOBA Nationals in 2007; in 2008 his fleece took the Color Championship at AOBA Nationals, and also won Best Lock and Judges' Choice for that same year. Through her sire, Tea Rose is sister to Testaverde of PVA (6x Color and Reserve Color Champion in 2010 and 2011), Nataliah (2011 AOBA National Color Champion), and Tahitian Black Pearl of PVA, a fifth generation color champion including a Reserve Color Championship at the 2012 AOBA National Show. Balboa's Tea Rose is ready to breed in 2013. Look for her at the 2013 Prestige Auction!
