The Elite Maximus

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 832798DOB: 8/28/200123 yrs
The Elite Maximus is one of those few animals who possess instant name recognition in the alpaca world. His reputation as a herdsire, and before that, in the show ring, is second to none. For many years he was the linchpin of Park View Alpacas' huacaya breeding program, and his many offspring have carried his low micron count and incredibly dense buttery fleece to victory in the showring. Max, as we called him, was sold to West Penn Alpacas at the Prestige Auction in September of 2011. Please direct any inquiries about EM to Debbie Harden and West Penn Alpacas. We have included him in our Openherd database in order to honor him as one of our herdsires, and because we still own many off his children and grandchildren.

Allure of PVA, herself the daughter of one of PVA's foundation females, is well on her way to becoming a foundation female herself. Born in 2002, Allure has produced no less than 6 crias with The Elite Maximus, each of them a luscious snowy white with luxurious crimp (excepting Adora, a luscious beige with luxurious crimp): Allura (2005) Adora (2006) Arristo (2007) Alexandrya (2008) Allysa (2009) Albertino (2010) Agamemnon (2012) Allure has been bred to Accoyo America Navigator for an October 2013 cria.

Description

Albertino is a charming and friendly fellow with a lot of self confidence. He has recently completed two years of showing for Park View Alpacas, and is now ready and interested in breeding. His beautiful fleece is rich to the touch, with lots of crimp. We recently showed his first year fleece at the 2012 IAO, where he took a first place ribbon. Judge Wade Gease admired Albertino's fineness, and "delicate crimp style." At the 2012 CABA Classicm Judge Cheryl Gehley commented how "wonderfully fine and soft!!" Albertino's fleece is--she also gave him high marks for uniformity of micron, brightness, and crimp. The judges at the 2012 AOBA National show gave him a full 20/20 points for fineness and handle, 7/8 points for uniformity of micron, and 9/10 for the ratio between primary and secondary fibers. Albertino has a full brother, currently still at side. It's hard not to call him "Little Albertino"--every bit as fine, bright and crimpy as his big brother. There's something about the result of this cross between The Elite Maximus and Allure of PVA...everyone should have one!
