Mr Alejandro is truly something special. He is ultra fine in black and retaining the numbers through the years. At 5 years of age, he is still producing fleece as fine as the juveniles. He is consistent both in the staple and across the blanket, down the hip, and up into the neck. Alejandro has a true macho look to him with loads of fleece packed all over his frame. This fleece is possibly the brights black fleece I have come across. Alejandro has extensive black and grey genetics that make him perfect for a dark breeding program. Alejandro's cria have started to hit the ground and they are stellar! After his first three cria, both Penny and I decided to breed most of our herd to Alejandro. In the 2017 breeding year, Alejandro will be bred to approximately 80% of the females on our farm. We have access to a lot of solid studs but truly believe in what Alejandro can do! Alejandro's first histogram at 8 1/2 months old is AFD 16.6 SD 3.5 CV 20 % OVER 30 0.6.....I was thrilled to see this kind of fineness and consistency in a black fleece. Co-owned with Penny Holbrook of Black Hill's Alpacas.

Description

Imagine that you are sitting at the show, watching the black female championship. There are juviniles, yearlings, two-year and older first and second place winners. Then the beautiful yearling with the striking head and glowing fleece is pulled to the front for the championship. That yearling was Pearl at Alpacapalooza 2007 and there is no question why. Pearl is a beautiful girl with a head that stands out even at seven years old. She has a tight crimp with excellent brightness and density that has held over the years. Co-owned with Mission Ridge Alpacas.
