Congratulations to our friend Annie Hunt of Willow Wind Farm, for acquiring a share of Avatar. Please contact Annie about Avatar breedings. We are thrilled with Avatar's newest creations - including Delphi's Avella - The 2017 National grey female halter Champion at just over 6 months of age. And congratulations to Avella's new owners, Debbie and Dale Hoerl; Alpacas of Moose Creek Ranch! Many more Avatar crias will be arriving in 2018. Avatar has beautiful crimpy, dense, and fine fleece, but what separates him from other outstanding herd sires, is his phenomenal handle - due to both exceptional uniformity, and very bright, low scale fiber. Cameron Holt, AOBA Senior Judge Trainer and world wide fiber expert, gave the following scores to Avatar's fleece: Fineness: 15 out of 15 ; Handle: 5 out of 5 ; Uniformity of micron: 7 out of 8 ; Crimp: 8.5 out of 10 ; Density: 3 out of 5 ; Brightness: 8 out of 10 ; Lack of medullation: 8 out of 10. His daughter Delphi's Lailah won Color Champion Grey Female Fleece at the 2012 Nationals. His son Delphi's Rama won a Blue Ribbon at the 2012 National Fleece Show, (and then brown Color Champion at the Tenessee Waltz Fleece Show). These two Avatar kids insured Delphi's win of the 2012 Classic Cup for fleece, at the 2012 Nationals. Another standout offspring is Kanaka - an 8X Champion with 1% EPD's in both SD and >30; and 2% EPD's in fineness. While we don't participate in the program, we agree Avatar's son Kanaka's EPD stats do reflect his sire's strong suits. Avatar's many other crias now include Six AOBA National Halter or Fleece Champions, several Futurity Champions, and many many many Multi-Champion and Blue Ribbon show winners, in addition to the winners of many Special Awards, such as the Best Brightness award at the National Fleece Show - the first time this award has been awarded to a grey. Please enjoy viewing some of his lovely crias and their fleeces, shown below. Super nice solid foundation girl! Princess is very friendly, always first to greet you. Very dense, fine fleece with nice staple. She is a strong well-boned girl. We are expecting great things from her this summer, as she is bred to none other than Avatar. Update: Princess gave birth 7-15-12 to a gorgeous male! Textbook birth, perfect cria and Princess has been a superior mother. Princess has been bred to Neversummers Billabong for an Aug. 2014 cria. Looking forward to an amazing summer! Princess delivered a gorgeous male cria 8/26/14. fawn fleece that makes you drool! Mama doing great and baby is very healthy and impressive. She's a natural! Thinking of repeating this breeding. Princess delivered a beautiful male cria 8/22/17. Possibly a dark silver. Sired by Peacemaker. She will be sold with male cria.

Description

This young male is very sweet and easy to handle. Rubicon has fine, very dense fleece, good crimp with that buttery handle. And talk about attractive markings, covered in spots, I especially like the cute "teardrops" at the corners of his eyes. He also has good conformation and bite. Rubicon would be a wonderful addition to an appy or grey breeding program, or possibly gray, as his sire is prominent in the gray world. I am truly looking forward to seeing what he can produce. He's ready to go to work so we're offering a low introductory breeding fee. Rubicon is now a proven herdsire! His 2nd offspring is a gorgeous rose grey female. Bernadette, born 8-17-17.
