SuriHerdsire (Male)Bay Black
AOA# 1049121DOB: 7/31/200519 yrs
There are few alpaca herd sires in the same league as MacGyver’s Balboa. He is co-owned by Park View All American Alpacas in Oregon and Victoria Lane Alpacas in Ohio. During the course of his show career Balboa racked up 16 Halter Championships-- 13 Color Championships and 3 Reserve Championships. And his fleece won a few awards too. At the MAPACA 2008 Fleece competition, Balboa’s fleece was awarded a First Place and Best Suri Locks. Then at the 2008 AOBA National Fleece Show, Balboa was awarded First Place and Reserve Color Championship. His fleece also received a Special Award at Nationals for Best Suri Locks. Balboa’s offspring have accrued more than 25 championships among them to date! Though he is true black, Balboa specializes in both light and dark colored offspring, and both do equally well in the show ring. Thus it is at the 2011 Futurity, he was named both Dark Herd Sire of the Year and Reserve Light Herd Sire of the Year. Included on the light side of the family, from Park View Alpacas, are: Lucieno of PVA, 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; the divine Imperial Princess of PVA, 2011 IAO Supreme Color Champion, 2011 CABA Color Champion, and 2011 Futurity Res Color Champion; Balboa’s Fanfare of PVA, the 2011 IAO Color Champion; Chablis of PVA: 2010 GWAS Res. Color Champion, and 2011 IAO Best Head; and blue-ribbon-winning and future color champion Chardonnay of PVA: 1st 2011 AOBA National Show, 1st 2011 Futurity, 1st 2011 GWAS, and 2011 IAO Best Head. But wait, Balboa makes dark Color Champions as well! These include, again from Park View Alpacas: Bejeweled of PVA, 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; Nataliah of PVA, half-sister of PVA Mahogany Prince and 2011 AOBA National Show Color Champion; Chanterelle of PVA, 2011 Futurity Color Champion and 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; Fawnessa of PVA, 2011 IAO Color Champion; and the immortal, memorable Testaverde of PVA: 2011 Color Champion at the IAO, the CABA Classic, the AOBA National Show, and 2010 Futurity Color Champion. Balboa has also sired some champions for Victoria Lane Alpacas. His first offspring to hit the ground, Balboa’s Adrienne, won 3 Reserve Championships during her show career. Then Adrienne’s full sister, Balboa’s Lexi, came along and also took 3 Reserve Championships—FABA 2011, Best of US 2011, and CABO 2011. In addition to these accomplishments, Balboa is just plain an all-around great guy. He’s friendly and intelligent, easy to handle, comes when he’s called, doesn’t cause problems with other males, and treats his ladies with dignity. UPDATE: NEW CO-OWNERS M&M ALPACAS OF NORTH CAROLINA

WP Black Jewel has given birth to a succession of black crias for Park View Alpacas. We can count on her to produce black every time, be it bay black or true black. Her first cria in 2006, Oprah of PVA, was bay black. Next came Black Tie in 2007, true black with an eye catching white top knot, a la his sire, Diamonte of PVA. In 2008 was The Black Pearl, who sold at the Prestige Auction in 2010. Black Magic was born in 2009. And Bejeweled of PVA, born in 2010, did well in the show ring and then sold at the Prestige Auction in 2011. Black Jewel gave birth to a beautiful black female cria by Balboa, early in November of 2011--Jewelia of PVA. Black Jewel will be rebred to Balboa for a 2012 cria.

Service Sire: GLR MOAB

CHAMPION TRUE BLACK HERDSIRE

GLR MOAB

SuriHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 32533910DOB: 6/1/201311 yrs
GLR Moab is the son of Great Lakes Ranch's true black Rockstar granddaughter, Midnight Rock. Brad & Jandy Sprouse specifically bought Midnight Rock, thinking and hoping that when bred to their Shavano pedigreed males that she would make a cria like Moab. His lock, density and luster were impressive to Brad and Jandy even as a little guy. Both parents, Midnight Rock and GLR Rastamon are about as true black as they come with no tipping at all and that great blue black color. With a pedigree of deep black genetics and the excellent fiber characteristics that come from both parents, His first show was the 2014 AOA Nationals where he was first in his class of juveniles and Reserve Black Male Color Champion at only ninth months old and went on to do it again at the largest Suri show of 2014 at the MAPACA Jubilee. He continued to do well in 2015 with a 3rd place at the 2015 AOA Nationals and First and Reserve Black Male Color Champion at the 2015 AAA Futurity. Moab went on to win the Black Male Color Championship at the 2015 MAPACA Jubilee, the biggest Suri show of the year. We partnered with Over Home Alpacas to purchase GLR Moab. Having processed His Dam - Midnight Rock's fleece and having already purchased her 2014 cria GLR Phoebe, who was awarded a championship in her first show and first place at MAPACA 2015 we had a very good feeling about Moab. Moab has many successful cria's on the ground. He is true to his genetics and is passing his fiber genetics and luster. Check out his statistics for a True Black! Moab Histogram - 24 months AFD 20.4, SD4.7, CV23.1%, %>30 4.7, Staple 260 mm Moab Biopsy - 30 months Density 40.75, S/P 8.2, Sec 21.4, Pri 30.1, Spread 8.7, AFD 22.35 One of GLR Moab's 2022 cria is LHSA CALLIOPE. Calliope possesses TRUE BLACK genetics from both her Sire and Dam as well as their Sires & Dams, which includes: Rastamon, Cousy’s Midnight Rock, Cinders, GLR Ali and Shavano. In addition to show results, we rely heavily on proven genetics and fleece data as the determining factors in our breeding program. Strict adherence to this standard and years of research has come to fruition with our Herdsire GLR Moab. **Please note: An additional $300.00 fee will be added to any breedings purchased to GLR Moab. This fee covers the medical pre-breeding exam, ultrasound, and fecals.
