Thank you Sharon and Dick Hegeman for allowing us to purchase your wonderful foundation girl, Winter Sky. I loved her show record, but especially her pedigree - as I have seen many wonderful "Merrill" offspring, and I have been in love with Winter's mom, Zarza, since Zarza visited my farm many years ago for a breeding. Now Winter can join our foundation girls. She delivered an amazing rose silver Avatar son, Luc, with one of the brightest silkiest fleeces I have seen. We are eager to see him grow up. Now bred to Ike - we expect great things again.

In 2002 - Mike Safely placed Winter in first place at Estes Park, stating he liked her typey head, conformation, coloring, fleece...in a nutshell, this is what a grey juevenile female is supposed to look like. And who had Mike just awarded Color Champion grey male? Winter's new beau, who was also a juvenile at the time, Avatar. Something tells me that Luc, their son, was just meant to be. ;^) Winter has produced three beautiful cria. One DSG female, one MSG male, and one MSG female. When bred to Jericho's Metallic Creede, Winter produced a gorgeous grey male "Summit", with beautiful fleece, who took a second place ribbon at GWAS 2009, and is now a herdsire at Alpacas of the Forest. Winter's Awards Received: Estes Park Wool Festival 2002 - First Place - Grey Juvenile Females. Great Western Alpaca Show, Denver, CO, 2003 - First Place - Grey Yearling Females. 2013 Shearing - sample taken from bag: 2013 = AFD 24.8 / SD 4.6 / CV 18.5 / 8.7% >30 5-16-14 = AFD 21.5 / SD 4.1 / CV 19.0 / 3.1% >30

Description

L'Oreal is our farm darling, extremely cute and very inquisitive. She is always the first to come see what's happening or who's visiting. Winning over "the boss" as favorite alpaca was no simple task, she just has one of those personalities and a look to go with it. She has great conformation with VERY FINE fleece, add in a shade of gorgeous dark silver grey and you see why we think she is so special. Lori is a wonderful mom and given us gray and black when bred to gray. At 10, she pronks and plays with the cria, this is no old gal....several more babies are possible from her. She is very healthy and acts like she is 2! Lori is bred to Bomber and at this price - a STEAL for someone! She also comes with a breed back...perhaps a date with the one and only Avatar? If you like her, we have more pictures, information and fiber samples.
