I loved her show record, but especially her pedigree - as I have seen many wonderful "Merrill" offspring, and I have been in love with Winter's mom, Zarza, since Zarza visited my farm many years ago for a breeding. Now Winter can join our foundation girls. She delivered an amazing rose silver Avatar son, Luc, with one of the brightest silkiest fleeces I have seen. We are eager to see him grow up. In 2002 - Mike Safely placed Winter in first place at Estes Park, stating he liked her typey head, conformation, coloring, fleece...in a nutshell, this is what a grey juevenile female is supposed to look like. And who had Mike just awarded Color Champion grey male? Winter's new beau, who was also a juvenile at the time, Avatar. Something tells me that Luc, their son, was just meant to be. ;^) Winter has produced three beautiful cria. One DSG female, one MSG male, and one MSG female. When bred to Jericho's Metallic Creede, Winter produced a gorgeous grey male "Summit", with beautiful fleece, who took a second place ribbon at GWAS 2009, and is now a herdsire at Alpacas of the Forest.
