His pencilling is accentuated and although at seven years of age he was no longer fine his micron of 26 wasn't too shabby! He has become one of Pucara International's premier herdsires producing unbelievable babies like Pucara Kallina purchased by Ann and Bill from Coldwater Creek in Michigan....Kallina is one of our best ever! Every one of her cria have been champions bar one, all her male cria became herdsires. The father of Kahuna is Accoyo Amador who Don Julio Bareeda when last in the US used as the "perfect " example of a suri herdsire. Amador was an important foundation herdsire for our Aussie show team. Look at Kahuna's progeny...genetics don't lie! In 2007 Kahuna progeny at four shows won 12 first place ribbons, 12 second place, 11 third ribbons, 2 fourth, 4 fifth and 3 sixth place ribbons. They also won two Get of Sire', one reserve championship and three championships! In 2008, Kahuna kids won every performance class they were entered into at the AOBA Nationals. They placed 1st, 2nd and third in Bred and Owned Males. First in Bred and Owned Females. First in Breeders Best Three and then went on to take out the Get of Sire with a different group. They also won White Male Champion and Reserve White female Champion. His offspring also won championships at the AWE show in Portland Oregon and the 2008 Futurity where Pucara Kahuna was Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year. In 2009, Kahuna did it all again. A remarkable feat considering the quality suri breeders are putting out there every year now. He won the Futurity Light Herdsire of the Year, his kids won the Nationals Get of Sire and something like eight Kahuna kids were in the white championship line ups of which one won the female championship and one won the reserve male championship. Susan Telez told us, "Never sell this one" when she did the herd evaluation for EPDs and she was right. We recently recieved word from ARI that she is 1st in N. America for EPD's in three catagories, spin fineness, % > 30 microns, % modulated fibers. ARI featured Carra Mia in a looped presentation at AOBA National 2013 Show. Carra Mia is the daughter of Pperuvian Miquel, a notable herdsire who is now deceased. Miquel won Get Of Sire at the 2001 National AOBA show. Carra Mia is half sister to Mr. Hollywood who has won multiple color championship awards. Carra Mia carries a very dense fleece with a high degree of luster and independent lock structure. 22 micron AFD at 10 years of age. Cara Mia is an excellent mom who has easy, unassisted births and an abundance of milk. She is bred to Rawlings for a 2013 cria. Since she has produced color in the past we expect nothing less from this match. Carra Mia's 2014 cria is the best she has produced! A female sired by Selkirk's Jesse James arrived on August 15th. We named her Princess Jesse. She truly stands out! She is currently bred to Bahati's Accoyo Salvatori and we are very excited about this 2018 cria!
