She is the friendliest alpaca on our farm. Kontikki wants to follow us right into the house! Gorgeous head with very typey suri style. Her luster is outstanding. Excellent density with nice solidity of lock. You have never seen locks of fiber with this kind of luster. It is absolutely greasy looking. The shearer was so impressed that he said, "you better keep this one." She sheared 8.8 lbs for neck and blanket only.
When we had our suri herd professionally evaluated, Susan Telez asked to take a sample of Kontikki's flees as she had never seen anythiung quite like it for luster. Kontikki sheared 10 lbs. of fleece in 2013.
Kontikki has been bred to Captain's Black Label to bring out the color in her heritage. WOW! what a surprise....fawn? Vicunia? Gray head? We still aren't really sure but he certainly takes the cuteness award for this year. Kontikki's little Black Label cria is sure to be a show stopper. He has curls from his nose to his toes with those curly, teddy bear ears. She is a great mom with her little guy gaining a pound per day.
