Powergrid has fabulous white fiber. He has placed in every show we have entered him, and won top honors out of 93 alpacas in the 2007 Southern Select Handcrafters Spin-Off. His fineness is not a surprise as he is a grandson of the famously fine Peruvian Hemingway. From his dam’s side, he also brings the bloodlines of PPPeruvian Chaparral and Peruvian King. In addition to his fine and dense fiber, he has very correct conformation and excellent coverage. Added to all this is his regal air. Powergrid has done particularly well in spin-offs, and continues to score high as he ages. Judges have commented about his fleece “dense and lofty”, “spun perfectly”, “lovely spinning!” and called the finished yarn “light and lively” and “lovely, bouncy, soft and energetic”. In 2013, Powergrid was ranked number in the ARI EPD program for Standard Deviation of Fiber Diameter. He has been passing on his incredible consistency of fineness to his offspring. Powergrid sired 13 crias, and they are all lovely. His 2008 male cria, Peaceful Heart´s Asa Lee won numerous 1st place ribbons, and in 2011 won Highest Scoring Alpaca in the Brown Color Group at both MAPACA and the AOBA Nationals. His 2009 cria, Peaceful Heart´s Solar Flare also won 1st place in the 2011 MAPACA Spin-off in his class of 9 White Alpacas. We lost Powergrid in late 2013, but we are blessed to have a lot of his fabulous genetics in our herd. You can see the quality of his offspring here and at our farm.

Effie Mae catches everybody’s eye when they visit the farm. She has a beautiful pattern of fawn spots and one of the most interesting faces I’ve seen. Effie has a great personality and walks well on a lead. She thinks washing her feet in the water bucket is great fun, so you have to keep it up high enough she can’t step in. I love Effie’s fleece. Not only does it have great interest with the colors, it has wonderful crimp and a great feel. She won a 2nd place at the 2009 VAOBA Fleece Show, and a 1st place ribbon in the 2010 VAOBA Spin-Off. Her fiber works up into a beautiful heathered yarn. Effie breeds easily, and it has been fun to see the colors she has produced. Her first cria born in May 2011 was a lovely bay black girl out of our white herdsire Powergrid. Her 2012 male cria Ephraim is a gorgeous dark fawn out of medium fawn, champion producing herdsire, Snowmass Casanova’s Arch Angel. Effie Mae sells with Ephraim and an additional breeding this fall to any Peaceful Heart Alpacas herdsire. She is also available as a part of a package with another mother and cria.

Rivanna Peruvian Maximus is a fabulous true black alpaca with a dense, well structured fleece and incredibly solid bone and conformation. This is a boy who won both the Black Fleece Championship and the Halter Reserve Championship at the 2009 VAOBA Expo. With a lineage that includes Peruvian Grand Master and Inca's Ransom, this son of the impressive Evander and beautiful Chase Tavern Rogue has a range of colors in his genetic background. Peruvian Maximus is passing on his incredible fleece and heavy bone structure on to his crias. Our first crias from Peruvian Maximus were born in 2013, and they are fabulous.
