Tequila is an excellent mother with a great presence about her. She is an energetic girl with more bounce in her step than many girls half her age. She breeds easily, gives birth easily, and has plenty of milk. Tequila's fleece has maintained its fineness and wonderful hand as she has aged, and is a deep mahogany color that catches everyone's eye. Added to all that is the fact that she is a daughter of The Silversmith, a nationally recognized gray herdsire. Tequila consistently produces beautiful crias. She has 12 registered crias, including 8 females. We have had five of Tequila's crias. Her 2005 cria, Sensational Mahogany, has the same lovely reddish shade to his dark brown fiber. Tequila's 2006 cria Caramello is a beauty with fine, dense fleece and a sweet personality. He was snapped up before his first birthday by a farm in New York looking to add his great genetics to their herd. Tequila's next two crias, Henrietta Ruth and Sugar Cookie have incredibly fine fleeces and beautiful looks. Their sweet personalities make them both favorites with our farm visitors. Her newest, Black Pearl, is already making her mark with her vivid personality. Currently Tequila is bred to our gray herdsire FG Gryffyn. We are excited to see what this combination of genetics and color produces.

Polar Ice is the newest addition to our herdsire lineup at Peaceful Heart Alpacas. He brings an incredible genetic background including Jedi Accoyo of the USA, Caligula, and Bolivian Ice Man, and a fabulous, dense, buttery soft fleece full of beautiful crimp. He has been in the show ring many times and has brought home an impressive collection of ribbons including 11 First Place, 3 Reserve Color Championships (two in halter and one in fleece), and a Color Championship at the 2012 Buckeye Show. We first saw Polar Ice at the 2013 Virginia Classic where we were struck with his presence as he walked into the ring, and watched as he walked away with yet another First Place win. Henrietta Ruth, "Ruthie", has grown into a true beauty who has been a great foundation for our herd. Both her sire and dam are known for their fine fiber, you can see from her fiber stats that she has maintained that fineness as well. She ranks in the top 3-7% of all fiber traits related to fineness in the ARI EPD program. Ruthie's first breeding produced a spectacular little girl with golden fleece in June 2010. Ruthie had such an easy delivery, that she kept eating during labor right up until her little girl was born. She is an attentive mother, and her little one, June Delight, was active and nursing well immediately. June is following in her mom's footsteps, delivering her first cria (a girl) in 2013 who had AFD 14.6 in her first shearing, and a beautiful boy in 2014. We bred Ruthie to our Champion herdsire Lord Tennyson, and were thrilled with their boy, Tennyson's Becket, in June 2011. He has unbelievable presence and has the incredible fleece, conformation, and beautiful head to support the attitude. We were so impressed that we repeated the breeding for a 2012 cria. Tennyson's Arthur looks just like his big brother, and sold quickly. We bred Ruthie to one of our newest herdsires, two time champion Maximus for a fall 2013 cria. They produced a gorgeous little girl, Gillian, who looks a lot like her true black sire. In 2014, Ruthie gave us a true black male, Polar Night, out of fawn champion Polar Ice.
