Peaceful Heart's Lord Tennyson

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 31076296DOB: 9/15/200717 yrs
Lord Tennyson has it all, wonderful bloodlines – Bueno, Caligula, El Patron, The Silversmith; incredible fleece – brilliant white, tight, crimpy bundles; good size and conformation; and incredible presence. Tennyson has inherited the great fleece shearing weight of his sire Lord Byron, like his sire Tennyson shears around 10 pounds. In addition to all these wonderful characteristics, Tennyson is a gentle boy with an incredible sense of presence about him. At the 2009 VAOBA Expo Fleece Show, he was awarded the Reserve Color Championship. Earlier that year, he won First in the light class of the Virginia Classic Walking Fleece Fiber Futurity for the second time in a row. In 2008 he won as the youngest in the class at exactly 6 months of age (and went on to win Best in Futurity), and next year as the oldest in the class, just one day shy of 18 months. He continues to do well in regional and national shows. Lord Tennyson’s first crias hit the ground in 2011, and they are incredible. Tennyson’s Milton has lovely fleece, conformation, and that sense of presence that hints at great things to come. Tennyson’s Becket has all that in fawn, and Timbuctoo has incredible fiber and one of the sweetest faces I’ve ever seen. In 2012, we welcomed Lady Clare (and an almost identical beauty who was born off the farm) and Sir Galahad in the spring and Tennyson’s Arthur and White Owl in the fall. They offer additional proof that Tennyson is producing consistently dense, bright and conformationally correct offspring. You can see his stamp in their adorable ‘teddy bear’ faces and fleece. We were very pleased when Tennyson won First in the 2013 VA Classic Get of Sire. At the same show, Sir Galahad repeated Tennyson's success in the Walking Fleece competition, winning First and Champion. Consider the benefits of adding Lord Tennyson’s great genetics to your herd. RC's Peruvian Natasha

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 30803916DOB: 10/13/200618 yrs
Natasha is a beautiful girl with full Peruvian ancestry that includes the bloodlines of Red Hot and Hemingway on her sire’s side and Guellermo and Timoteo on her dam’s side. Her background is full of color, and she has proven herself to be a producer of color, including multiple ribbon winner Darlene. Natasha has produced two girls and two male crias. In 2013, she gave us an incredible white male cria with beautiful fleece and conformation who was 24 pounds at birth and 73 pounds when weaned at 5 months of age. His first shearing (at 11 months) had an AFD of 15.4 microns. For her 2014 cria, we bred her to gray Champion Rivanna Andean Silver, and got a gorgeous light rosegray male with buttery soft fleece. He also weighed over 70 pounds when weaned. Natasha consistently shears 5 to 5 1/2 pounds of fleece each year, and ranks in the top 9% for staple length in the ARI EPDs. We repeated Natasha's breeding to 2X Banner Winner Rivanna Andean Silver for a 2015 cria, and got a repeat of her 2014 cria except she's a beautiful little girl.

Description

Ulysses is a favorite on the farm with us and all our visitors. He is first to come over and see what you are doing, and is usually good for a quick kiss and rub behind the ear before he runs off to play. Ulysses will definitely be a great PR alpaca for any farm. We expect great things from Ulysses because he is so like his sire and siblings. Tennyson has won numerous awards including Get of Sire for his incredibly consistent crias. Tennyson won First and Champion at the Walking Fiber Futurity at the 2008 Virginia Classic (and First again in 2009). In 2013, his cria Peaceful Heart's Sir Galahad repeated his First and Champion wins. We're anxious to see Ulysses begin his show career. Ulysses's pedigree reads like a who's who among great alpacas. His sire's side brings Bueno, Caligula, El Patron, and The Silversmith, and from his full Peruvian dam's side, he carries genetics from Hemingway, Guellermo and Timoteo. Ulysses has great size and conformation and incredible fleece just like his sire Lord Tennyson. We expect him to grow into an impressive herdsire. Contact us today to set up a time to meet Ulysses and discuss adding him to your herd.
