HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 826872DOB: 5/17/200024 yrs
Price: $8,000 for 1/4 share, covering September-November each year. As Scott Miller of Crescent Moon said December 2013, "He's really kept his fineness." An outstanding Hemingway son, Haldane will take your breath away! He is Full Peruvian, and Full Allianza, creating one of the best examples of top line genetics. His fleece is fine with an abundance of sheen and vitality, along with beautiful architecture. Just like Hemingway, Haldane's micron count remains excellent (23.1 at 8 years of age). He is dense, has a silky soft handle and has coverage head to toe. His namesake, Roger Haldane, is the original alpaca pioneer from Australia, who selected and owned Haldane’s dam, Esmeralda (from Rural Allianza, Macusani) whom he then had mated to Hemingway. The result of this thoughtful breeding is spectacular. With over 110 cria on the ground, his genetics are in high demand. His cria are amazing, and many are show winners. For a detailed list of winning crias, please e-mail us. As a Studmaster male, Haldane's cria are eligible to become part of the Ideal Alpaca Community. Check out ca.com. for more information. Haldane will be standing stud in 2014 (September-November) at our ranch in Lacey, Washington. He will be available for drive by and mobile breedings, also. His current EPD results rank him as one of the best males in the Studmaster Program. We currently have 4 Haldane offspring Machismo, Perpetua, Cambria and Antiqua. Take a look at them on this site. All are exceptional animals. His progeny have won over 120 show awards. Way too many positives, cria awards, etc to list here!! He throws all colors, from white to true black. Fall 2014 lease available. Call now. We own Haldane from September-November.

Dam: Imlay

Best Mom Ever

Imlay

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Brown, Dark Rose Grey, Bay Black
AOA# 812692DOB: 3/1/199925 yrs
Imlay is a strong proven female who has birthed 9 cria’s. She is healthy, a great mom, with plenty of milk and has delivered 3 healthy cria’s unassisted here on our farm. She is on the smaller side, very gentle and one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. All of her cria’s born here with us have inherited her gentle nature and are among the easiest to handle in the herd. She is truly a no-drama mama! She is registered as a dark brown but is actually a dark rose gray once you open up her fiber. She is full Chilean with silver grey on her sire's side and her 2008 cria is also a modern rose gray. Imlay is older and her fiber isn’t what it used to be, but is holding well for her age and has been graded to a WL4-WL5 for the 2008-2011 clips. We currently own two of Imlay’s daughters and two sons, and a granddaughter so it’s time to start diversifying some of our genetics. Imlay still has a few good breeding years left, and she really wants to be a mom again after taking some time off. She was bred this year to MaRS Katoomba with a positive ultrasound and we can't wait to see Katoomba's first cria's hit the ground in 2013. Update: Imlay gave birth to an amazing rose gray male cria on 7/12/13. He is the spitting image of his father and we'd love to keep him; however we do have his father and many of his siblings here on the farm so we will consider a package deal including her 2013 male cria. She has not yet been rebred as we'd like to get some weight back on her as she's putting all of her effort into raising a gorgeous cria. 2016 -- We have decided to allow Imlay to retire from our breeding program as we have many of her offspring in our herd and she deserves to take a break. We have reduced her price to offer her as an companion or fiber animal with a "retirement" home in mind. As she's getting older, and her last cria took a lot out of her, she will not be sold with breeding rights. This girl deserves to retire in style and enjoy the rest of her life just relaxing. Sadly, Imlay passed away late in 2016. We will leave her information up for reference purposes.

Description

Apparently little Mo heard that he was a Studmaster progeny -- his dad is Studmaster Male NWA Haldane. He made it very clear to us that he intended to be a studmaster himself when he attempted to start breeding at 10 days old. At that point, little Mo became Money Maker. Just prior to his 2nd birthday, we gave him his shot. He proved he was definitely ready and has appeared to have settled his first females, ultrasound confirmations are pending! Mo first cria is a lovely brown female. Her fiber is to die for! Additional details coming soon!
