Nalayo is something special. One of my all time favorite girls. This Half Accoyo Foundation Queen is one of our most outstanding gorgeous, large boned, densely fleeced, full coverage Accoyo Top Dog daughters. On her registration she was listed as Dark Brown/Bay Black, but as she got older it actually turned to a Dark Rose Grey. Her fleece is amazing and she has some of the best fleeced crias. She's got it all: Great Size and Structure; Soft, Dense, Full Coverage Fleece; Regal Presence; and a Perfect Mother who passes her great qualities on to her cria.
Her sire, Full Accoyo Pacific Crest Accoyo Top Dog may just be one of the best colored Full Accoyo Herdsires in the Nation. Two Grand Champion Accoyo Producers brought about Top Dog. Full Accoyo Camilio with his rich dark coloring and Acomayo produced this fabulous future of Accoyo genetics. Top Dog is a truely amazing stud. I must like him since I have Sermale out of him, and Lancelot's Cove who is a Top Dog grandson.
Top Dog's Sire, Full Accoyo Camilio is a "Get of Sire" winner over Hemingway and Legacy! Camilio is also one of two sons imported from one of Don Julio's favorite herdsires, he had two. The first being Shere Kahn and the second Standing Bear. Don Julio chose two of his best sons, and Camilio was one of the two imported sons of Standing Bear.
Camilio was the top fawn pick in the largest import of Accoyo fawn herdsires to date. With a micron count of 20 at age 3 and a 1995 shear weight of 13 pounds, he sports a beautiful light fawn colored fleece. His progeny and wins are too numerous to count.
Top Dog's dam is PPPeruvian Accoyo Acomaya. Acomaya with Camilio produced not only Top Dog, but also Accoyo the Babe, the 1st Place Winner of the National AOBA Handcrafter's Spin-Off. 85 point grading system Babe scored 84!
Nalayo's Dam Nala is one of the Great Kokomo Joe True Black daughters. She is a foundation queen in her own right; great fleece with great structure and a superb mother.
In 2009, Nalayo had Nalady, a gorgeous fawn female cria with Accoyo Lancelot. In 2010, she had another female stunner, Narrator, with Accoyo Juliaca. And in 2011, she had a light fawn boy, Nato, with Accoyo Expressions.
Sadly, Nato will be our last cria from Nalayo. About a month after having him, our vet's best guess is she contracted an infection in her reproductive system. Her fever spiked high and fast, and we weren't able to save her. But she gave Nato a great start and he's an amazingly strong boy. We'll be hanging on to him as our connection with his special mother.
