Lightning and Thunder is a prime example of the perfect mix of national origins. He has strength and character of lock from his Peruvian ancestors and amazing luster from the Chilean and Bolivian. Thunder is a surprising silver grey with tight pencil locks out of a beige dam. He placed first in his first time out and has amazing presence. When first born, it was thought he was fawn, but very soon the silver lining appeared. The grey might have been expected, as he has true black on both sides of his pedigree as well as both white and fawn. He echoes the grey freckles of his dam, and he has some brown spots. LT has remarkable lock definition and density, a gift from his sire. Sire Coming Tornado, 50% Chilean and 50% Peruvian, is the Medium Brown Color Champion son of the great Diablo R809924. Diablo, True Black, is a striking and gorgeous male with huge presence. He catches everyone's attention. It is hard to beat his luster, density, and handle on any alpaca let alone a black! And he is a True Black, not tipped brown. His cria look amazing: maroons, greys, blacks and browns! Coming Tornado's grandsire is the famous Peruvian Aureo G236 (Alianza). Aureo is famous for his gorgeous high-selling cria that set price records. Coming Tornado lives up to his name. He had shine and locks as soon as he was dry. He started slow in the show ring, but finished strongly with a Color Championship. His third fleece is even stronger and, if possible, more lustrous than his second, which topped his cria coat. Underneath it all, Tornado has strong legs, beautiful proportions and correct bite: the complete package. Tornado's Micron count in 2005: 23.2 at 2 years; comfort factor 92%. His shearing weight in 2005 for his first shearing was 7.4 lbs. Lightning and Thunder's dam MSR Calipso is 50% Peruvian and 50% Bolivian. Calipso really delivers the goods. Her first two crias capture the spirit of their sires. She has sweeping pencil locks, a trait her offspring show. The comfort factor of her fleece is 99.3%. Her first cria had a 17.8 micron count at 19 months. Calipso's micron count was 18.3 at 4 years old in 2005. Lightning and Thunder himself had a micron count of 18.81 in 2008. Calipso's sire is the Dark Silver Grey, Full Peruvian 4Peruvian Olajuwon 6076. He was not used much by his prior owners, but he has produced outstanding silver/grey and appaloosa colored cria with a soft silky "hand" and consistent suri lock structure. OJ was the first suri male picked in the 1996 4P Peruvian importation for a reason. He's sire and grandsire to many greats, such as Champion Herdsire Maserati. Calipso's dam is GCSA Provence out of Acero Marka's Pedesou & Duracell. Sisters Provence and Silky both placed at AOBA and sister Ruby is a beautiful maroon that sold at the 2003 AOBA Auction for $21,500 with color champions before she was a year old. We are very excited to have LT as our suri herdsire for the Fall 2012.

Dam: Devante's Maddie

Torbio Granddaughter!

Devante's Maddie

SuriOpen (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 31329095DOB: 3/16/200816 yrs
Devante's Maddie is a half accoyo charmer; 9/16 Peruvian, 3/16 Bolivian and 1/4 Chilean. She is a beautiful blend of her ancestors with shine, luster and color. Maddie's sire is medium fawn, full Peruvian Accoyo Devante. He was Reserve Champion Herdsire of the Year 2006! His son Rockstar was Herdsire of the year in 2006 at the Futurity! There are only five registered Full Accoyo Torbio sons and only two of those have the splendid rich color of fawn; Accoyo Devante is one of those boys and Torbio's Masterpiece is the other who cinched a Color Championship in 2006. Devante has lustrous locks that twist like Shirley Temple Trademarks; he is a wonderful example of Full Accoyo Typey. Accoyo Devante's sire, Accoyo Torbio, was the High Seller at $160,000 at the 2001 Breeder's Choice Auction. He has sired, grandsired and great grandsired many show winners. His female offspring are producing champions and high selling suri alpacas. Torbio has more than 160 cria on the ground and he passes his unique style and qualities to his offspring; with tight pencil locks, blinding luster, density, and a beautiful "bearded head" ... a trademark that is very popular in the show ring and breeding programs. Although Torbio has never been shown, his offspring have won numerous awards, including: Accoyo Rock Solid - 1st Place Virginia Classic 2002, 1st place 2000 AOBA Fleece, 1st Place 2001 Empire Alpaca Extravaganze, 1st Place 2001 MAPACA Jubilee, 1st Place White Suri Juveniles Big E 2000, 1st Place Best Bred and Owned Suri Male Big E 2000, 1st Place Breeders Best Suri, etc. Accoyo Devante's dam, Accoyo Blanca Rosa, is a beautiful Full Peruvian Accoyo that has consistently produced wonderful cria. When bred to color, she has produced fawn offspring. Rosa's sire is 4Peruvian Membrillo 6049. He is a rare fawn Accoyo male and was selected by Don Julio Barreda for the 1996 Peruvian importation. There were only 17 Full Accoyo Suri Peruvian males imported to the US. Membrillo is very correct, with great lock and luster which he passes to his offspring. Of his 35 offspring, 26 have been females! Rosa's dam is Cheney LCA, full sister to Chief Qualchan LCA. Chief now has a Dark fawn Full Accoyo Cria, THE darkest full Accoyo suri in the nation, who sold for $181,000, the highest selling female alpaca. Maddie's dam Madonna Storm is out of Chilean herdsire Micca-Sooke, known for his excellent fiber and award winning cria; and NWF Maxine whose grandfathers are Megamacho and Attecus, with Matrix NT844 TBS as her sire. Maxine's dam Almond Joy is out of Attecus and Acero Marka's A La Lucie ( our Lullaby's dam). Attecus is the son of famous Peruvian Tosh and Peruvian Natasha who were imported from Alianza. Attecus is virtually unrelated to any Peruvian bloodlines in the US because his father, Peruvian Tosh was exported to Australia after siring only 4 offspring. Attecus may have been exported as well, because his record also ended in 2000 after
